ARRIVAL TIME—All constume contest participants need to be present and registered at the front of house NO LATER THAN 1PM. If you have not registered with us by that time, you will be considered a no-show and will be disqualified from the contest, reliquishing your opportunity to participate and potentially win the grand prize.
CONTEST INSTRUCTIONS—Once you're registered, you'll be given a number to pin on—this will coordinate with a number list given to the vendors judging the costumes. There will be indicators at vendor tables where you must visit in order to be judged for your costume. They will rate each number's costume on a scale from ONE TO FIVE. All participants must visit EVERY judge in order to qualify for the grand prize. We will tally all of the scores from the judging vendors, and the person with the highest score will win the free turntable.
WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER OF THE CONTEST ON INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 12. We will use the phone number you provided to contact you BEFOREHAND. If we cannot get ahold of you, we will move on to the runner up. PLEASE KEEP YOUR PHONES BY YOU TO ANSWER OUR CALL.
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR—We want this contest to be fun and community building for those attending the Lakeland Record Fair. We ask that everyone be kind to one another as they come not only to participate in the contest but also as they shop at our event. Should any behavior be deemed inappropriate or hostile, you will be subject to disqualification and will be asked to leave immediately.
COSTUME CONDITIONS—While we encourage participants to be creative and come up with great costume ideas, we ask that you be considerate of those around you. THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT, and there are lots of small children that attend with their parents/guardians. We ask that participants be modest in areas that count and to be mindful of violence and gore due to these children coming to shop at our event.
