ABOUT O.S.C.A.R.:

One Step Closer Animal Rescue, Inc. (O.S.C.A.R.) is a non-profit rescue organization based in Sparta, New Jersey, dedicated to saving dogs from desperate situations. We rescue dogs from overcrowded shelters where animals face euthanasia due to lack of space, giving them the loving care, proper veterinary attention, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services they deserve, so they can find the forever homes they’ve always needed.

Flintlock Barrel Society and it's members have been donating to OSCAR for the last three years. Our donations have helped save lives by funding critical medical care, daily food, and shelter operations. We love ourlocal shelter because it focuses on community outreach, helping rehabilitate neglected and abused dogs while significantly reducing homeless pet populations in our community. Our admin Shaun can usually be found there almost daily!

FIRE... Unfortunately, this past year, the shelter experienced a fire on Feb 11, 2026. The fire at shelter caused catastrophic damage to the kennel area, where the fire was contained, but there was significant smoke damage to other structures on the property. Tragically, six dogs perished in the fire, and the buildings were destroyed. Demolition has started, but there is significant rebuilding to be done.

Currently, all dogs are in foster homes while the shelter is under construction.

Our goal is to raise 15-20k to help OSCAR rebuild and get a permanent structure built give the volunteer team a physical adoption site again, and house so many more dogs! All money raised during the event will go to direct costs and the rest will be 100% donated directly to the charity.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Come join Flintlock Barrel Society (FBS) as we swing to raise money to help rebuild the main facilities of O.S.C.A.R! A day of fun on the greens can make a major difference in these dogs lives. We will be joined by golf personality extraordinaire, Bill Binder of Binders Stash Whiskey! You'll have the opportunity to test your skills against him for a small donation, and win prizes!

FBS Club members who attend will also be eligible for an exclusive event bottle from Binder's stash, which can be picked up and signed at the event.

We are planning a tricky tray format raffle in which you will be able to buy or win tickets by entering contests (for a small dontation) throughout the day. We plan to host a long drive competition, offer mulligans for small donations, and other fun events are in the works!! We will keep you updated to changes as they happen.

Registration for the event will include:
- Greens Fee (18 holes - shotgun scramble format)
