• ABTA Academic Scholarship Fund

  • Thank you for your interest in applying for the ABTA Academic Scholarship Fund. Please complete all sections of this form and ensure all required documents are submitted by the deadline.

  • INTRODUCTION

    This plan was established to assist the applicant in pursuing higher education and continuing in Baton activities.

    ELIGIBILTY

    • Applicant must currently be an athlete or technical member of the ABTA 
    • Applicant must hold a current ABTA membership.
    • Applicant must have completed at least one semester of post-secondary education
    • Applicant must have attended an accredited post-secondary institution or a licensed trade school as approved by the ABTA Board of Directors.

    APPLICATION PERIOD

    • The scholarship fund program is for the 2025-2026 school year.
      • September 2025 - August 2026

     SCHOLARSHIP AWARD - $100.00 - $500.00

    Maximum award of $500.00 per applicant, per year, for a maximum of 6 years.

    The actual scholarship paid out will be subject to the number of applicants received and the involvement of the applicant in baton twirling within the Province of Alberta at the time.

    The amounts paid will be at the sole discretion and decision of the ABTA Board of Directors.

    Applicants must include a copy of official marks and transcripts and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or B equivalent.

    AWARD RECIPIENTS

    Recipients of this scholarship will be asked to give a short presentation at an ABTA event (in person or virtual), sharing their baton twirling journey and the impact of the scholarship on their future goals.

  • THIS APPLICATION, when completed, should be accompanied by:

    1. Completed ABTA Academic Scholarship Fund Application Form
    2. Most Recent Report Card or Transcript
    3. Personal Statement
    4. Proof of Enrollment or Acceptance (if applicable)
    5. Reference Letter from Coach, Teacher, Community Leader

    UPON APPROVAL, the applicant will be

    • Notified via email of acceptance of the application
    • Funds will be issued accordingly
    • Presentation (in person or virtual) details to be scheduled as negotiated between ABTA and the recipient

    APPLICATIONS must be received on or before September 30, 2026, along with the first semester marks.  If marks are unavailable at the time of applying, please specify on the application when submitting.  Consideration will be given to all applicants who apply on or before the deadline.  Copies of marks must be submitted when they become available. 

    Scholarship Funds will be released after October 31, 2026, to successful recipients.
