About Bee U NYC: Bee U NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing environmental education, sustainability, and workforce development across New York City. We provide underrepresented communities with equitable access to hands-on learning opportunities in urban beekeeping, environmental stewardship, and green career pathways. Our programs combine experiential education, leadership development, and environmental justice to prepare the next generation of environmental changemakers. Through initiatives such as the Urban Beekeeping Fellowship, the Green Jobs Pipeline, and school-based beekeeping and sustainability programs, Bee U NYC empowers youth and community members to engage with the environment, explore green jobs, and develop lifelong skills in conservation and advocacy.

  • Position Overview: The Director of Marketing will lead Bee U NYC’s marketing, public relations, audience development, brand, digital presence, communications, and earned-revenue strategy. This senior role is responsible for supporting Bee U NYC’s FY27 earned revenue goal of $50,000 (with support of Bee U NYC’s leadership team). This role will also increase Bee U NYC’s visibility throughout New York City while developing revenue-generating opportunities connected to the organization’s mission.

A major focus will be growing Bee U NYC’s public, private, group, and corporate Hive Experiences; Community Workshops; online store; honey and merchandise sales; and other mission-aligned earned-revenue opportunities. The Director will also oversee Bee U NYC’s newsletter, media and public relations strategy, customer acquisition, and overall communications strategy.

The Director of Marketing will work closely with the Director of Operations. The Director of Marketing will focus on generating awareness, leads, customers, partnerships, and revenue opportunities, while the Director of Operations will manage the administration, logistics, and fulfillment of booked experiences and programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial marketing leader to grow Bee U NYC’s audience, strengthen its public profile, and build sustainable earned revenue while advancing environmental education and green career pathways.
