    There are nine (9) names listed, two (2) new candidates and seven (7) incumbent candidates, but there are only seven (7) positions available. As such, you may vote for seven (7) of the listed names;

    • Detective Greg Duarte has been a Tempe Police Department Homicide Detective for five years and approximately two years as a Night Squad Detective. Detective Duarte served just over 11 years in uniformed Patrol. Detective Duarte is a former U.S. Marine and combat veteran who served in Desert Storm.

      Sergeant Mike Brundridge has worked for Clarkdale Police Department for the past 16 years. Sgt. Brundridge spent almost 5 years, 2013-2017, assigned to the D.P.S. Gang Task Force. Sgt. Brundridge was promoted to Sergeant in 2021 and has been an AHIA Member for the past eight years.

      Corporal Jesus Davidson have been with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office for eleven years. During these eleven years, he served six years on patrol and the last three and a half years on the Major Crimes Unit.  (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Detective Michelle Cervantes has been a Phoenix Police Department Homicide Detective for over six years and has served with the Phoenix Police Department for 17 years. Detective Cervantes has been an AHIA Member for 12 years. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Lieutenant Christopher Palmer has been with the Casa Grande Police Department for 19 years. He is currently a Patrol Lieutenant and spent 8 years in Criminal Investigations as a Detective and a Sergeant. Lt. Palmer has been a member of the AHIA board since January of 2022. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Detective Cassandra Ynclan has been with Chandler Police Department for 21 years and has been a Robbery/Homicide Detective since 2009. Detective Ynclan has been a member of AHIA for five years. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Detective Delia Marquez has been with the Mesa Police Department Homicide Unit for three years. She previously served in the Special Victims Unit for four years. Detective Marquez has been a member of AHIA since 2019 and a board member since 2021. Detective Marquez is a U.S. Army veteran. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Detective Chris Miller has been with the Tempe Police Department for 15 years. Detective Miller has worked criminal investigations for the past eight years, of which, his last five were spent as a Homicide Detective. Detective Miller has served on the AHIA board since 2021. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

      Sergeant Todd Martinet has been with the Flagstaff Police Department for 18 years, and served 11 of those years as a detective. Sergeant Martinet has been an AHIA Member since 2011 and served on the AHIA board since 2021. (AHIA Board Incumbent Nominee)

    The current Executive Directors are running unopposed in this year's election. We ask that you take a minute and vote regarding their incumbent positions.


    Sergeant Nathan Moffat has been with the Chandler Police Department for 26 years. He is currently assigned to the Vehicular Crime Squad. Prior to being promoted, Sgt. Moffat spent 15 years as a Detective, and over 11 years as a Homicide Detective. Sgt. Moffat has been on the AHIA board since 2011 and has served as the AHIA President since 2017.

    Lieutenant Stephen Palmer has been with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office since 2007. Lt. Palmer served four years as a Homicide Detective before being promoted to sergeant. Lt. Palmer worked at MCSO headquarters before returning to Homicide as a sergeant where he served until 2022 and was promoted to lieutenant. Lieutenant Stephen Palmer is a U.S. Army Veteran.

    Ms. Jennifer Kochanski was hired by the Department of Public Safety in March 2001 as a Forensic Scientist in the Toxicology section. In 2009, Jennifer became a supervisor in the Toxicology unit. In January 2014, Jennifer was transferred to the DNA Property Crimes Unit and was promoted in August 2016 to Central Regional Manager. Jennifer became a member of AHIA in 2014 and has served as the AHIA Treasurer since August 2021. 

    Detective Michael Rayburn has been with the Mesa Police Department for 22 years. He has been assigned to the Homicide Unit for the past 8 years. Detective Rayburn has served on the AHIA board since 2019 and was appointed the AHIA Secretary in 2021.
