    Amirah David
We are honored to welcome Amirah, a licensed mental health therapist, poet, and facilitator whose work beautifully brings together healing, faith, creativity, and the human experience.

Five years ago, her life was transformed through a profound journey in search of truth, meaning, and hope. In that search, she came to know God, or as she describes it, He found her. Her journey was deeply influenced by the suffering she encountered daily through her counseling practice and witnessed in the world around her.

Today, Amirah uses both her professional experience and creative gifts to encourage others toward healing and deeper reflection. She is the author of two books of poetry and enjoys creating spaces where creativity can become a meaningful part of the healing journey.

    Jenna Hays
Jenna Hays is an author, educator, and spiritual formation teacher with a passion for helping people understand their identity, calling, faith, and place in the world. She is the author of Identity and Calling: A Practical Guide to Spiritual Formation, a resource designed to help individuals find their true identity in Christ and explore the formation of their lives through a biblical and spiritual lens.

Jenna is also the founder and teacher of Mountain Academy in Ashland, Oregon, where she is committed to cultivating thoughtful, grounded, and spiritually formed students. Her work extends into the areas of faith, culture, theology, and civic life through her teaching and podcasting. Jenna also hosts Covenant and Constitution: A Theology of Politics, where she examines political and cultural life through a theological and biblical perspective.

    Together

Amirah and Jenna host The School of Life, a podcast exploring the questions, challenges, and experiences that shape us as human beings. Amirah and Jenna bring complementary perspectives to this class, combining mental health, creativity, spiritual formation, education, and lived experience. Their shared passion is to create meaningful spaces for learning, honest reflection, and personal growth, helping participants explore not only what they believe, but how those beliefs shape the way they live.
