I understand that participation in the WECAN Neighbor & Family Social Picnic and related activities is voluntary. Activities may include, without limitation, volleyball, group games, beach and pond activities, walking or playing on outdoor and uneven surfaces, food sharing, barbecue activities, and other recreational or social activities.

I understand that participation in outdoor and recreational activities may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, collisions, weather conditions, water-related hazards, burns or other risks associated with barbecue areas, food allergies or sensitivities, and other possible risks of personal injury, illness, or property loss.

I voluntarily choose to participate and accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with my participation and, if applicable, the participation of minor children for whom I am the parent or legal guardian.

I understand that parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their children throughout the event and for determining whether individual activities are appropriate for their family members.

Individuals with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or other food-related concerns are responsible for determining whether particular foods are appropriate for themselves and their family members.

IMPORTANT: NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE PROVIDED BY WECAN FOR THIS EVENT.

I understand that the WECAN Neighbor & Family Social Picnic is being held at Morses Pond, where participants may choose to swim, wade, play in or near the water, or participate in other beach or water-related activities.

I understand and acknowledge that WECAN is not providing lifeguard services or water supervision for this event. Participation in swimming and any other water or beach activity is entirely voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.

I understand that swimming and other activities in or around water involve inherent risks, including, but not limited to, drowning, near-drowning, slips and falls, underwater hazards, changing water or weather conditions, collision with other participants or objects, and other serious bodily injury.

Parents and legal guardians are solely responsible for the supervision and safety of their minor children at all times, particularly while children are in or near the pond or beach area. Children should never be left unattended near the water.

Each participant is responsible for determining whether they and their family members are capable of safely participating in any water activity and for using appropriate safety equipment when needed.

Participation in the picnic does not require swimming or participation in any water activity.

This release is not intended to waive any rights or claims that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
