• Mural Community Input Form

SEABA is proud to offer three artists a paid opportunity to develop a mural proposal, made possible by an Animating Infrastructure grant from the Vermont Art Council. The proposed location for the mural is a wall located in the alleyway by Speeder and Earl’s. This mural project will kick off our effort to connect existing art along the alleyway that runs from The SEABA Center to Howard Street, guiding pedestrians past artist collectives and businesses tucked into this vibrant block. We are feedback on what the community would like to see included in the mural project, and how they might like to be involved. Artists will be asked to consider ways in which to include the community in the creation of their work, and your anonymous answers from this form will be shared with them to help inspire their proposal process. The muralist will be highly encouraged to reflect on the history of the area and look towards the future. This could include honoring the first use of the space as Abenaki land, speaking to the industrial past, or the present community of the area. What other aspects of the South End would you like to see? Thank you for your feedback! This information will help our artists in their proposal project.
