    10 x 10 Small Works: A Special Feature of The Grand Art Show

  • The Monastery AZ invites Arizona artists to create an original 10 x 10 inch work for a special Small Works feature within The Grand Art Show.

    The Grand Art Show brings together artists from across Arizona in a broad celebration of the creativity and artistic voices found throughout our state. This year, one wall within the exhibition will be dedicated entirely to small original works, each created by a different artist, each exactly the same size, and each available for the same price.

    The idea is simple: remove some of the uncertainty that can surround purchasing original art and invite visitors to choose a work based on connection. Rather than comparing sizes and prices, collectors can simply ask, Which piece speaks to me?

    Presented together, the works will create a diverse mosaic of styles, perspectives, mediums, and artistic voices while offering visitors an approachable opportunity to begin or grow an art collection.

    Guidelines:

    • Open to Arizona based artists, 18 and older 
    • Each participating artist may submit up to 2 original works for consideration for the 10 x 10 Small Works feature
    • All themes, visual styles, and mediums are welcome
    • Artwork must be original (no prints or giclee)
    • Artwork must be exhibition ready and prepared for hanging
    • All accepted works will be priced uniformly at $200
    • Works must be for sale (The Monastery retains a 30% commission on all sales)
    • No application fee

    Because the visual impact of the installation depends upon the consistency of scale, artwork must have a finished presentation size of exactly 10 by 10 inches. Any framing or presentation treatment must remain within the 10 by 10 inch finished dimensions.

    Part of The Grand Art Show:

    The 10 x 10 Small Works wall is not a separate exhibition. It will be presented as a featured installation within The Grand Art Show, The Monastery AZ's statewide showcase of Arizona artists.

    The Grand Art Show will be on display November 13 through December 13, 2026 at The Monastery AZ in the arts district of downtown Peoria.

    Like the larger exhibition, the Small Works wall will operate as a take home exhibition. When a work sells, the collector may take it home that day.

    Important Dates:

    - Submission Deadline: October 9, 2026

    - Notification of Acceptance: October 12, 2026

    - Artwork Drop Off: November 8 and 9, 2026 between 12 PM to 3 PM

    - Exhibition: November 13 through December 13, 2026

  • Artwork Delivery & Pick-Up

    • Accepted artwork must be delivered on the scheduled drop-off date provided by The Monastery AZ.
    • All artwork must be picked up at the end of the exhibition during the designated pick-up window.

    Presentation Requirements

    • Artwork must be exhibition-ready. This includes being properly framed (if applicable) and wired for hanging.
    • Each piece must be labeled with the artist’s name, title, medium, size, and price at the time of drop-off.

    Sales & Replacements

    • The Monastery AZ will offer the Artist’s work for sale at the retail price specified by the Artist. Artist agrees that The Monastery shall retain a commission of 30% of the specified price provided by the Artist.
    • The Grand Art Show is a take-home exhibition: when a buyer purchases a piece, they may take it with them the same day.
    • In the event of a sale, The Monastery AZ may contact me to provide an additional work to display in its place.

    Marketing & Promotion

    • Artists are encouraged to share promotional materials provided (flyers, social media posts, Facebook Event link here) to help promote the show.
    • The Monastery AZ may use images of my submitted work for marketing and promotional purposes related to this event.

    Liability

    • The Monastery AZ takes reasonable precautions to protect artwork and provides limited liability for loss/damaged works. Artist/Representative is encouraged to assume proper and adequate insurance for their artwork and property.

    Acknowledgment

    By signing this form, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the above terms, and that my submitted artwork will be included in The Grand Art Show under these conditions.
