Cultural Program Registration

Austin Tamizh Sangam is pleased to extend an invitation for you to register for the 2026 ATS Deepavali Mahakondattam Cultural performance. This event is scheduled to take place in person at Travis County Exposition Center, 7311 Decker Ln, Austin, TX 78724 on Saturday, December 5, 2026, 2pm onwards and requires tickets for attendance. Consequently, all attendees, including performers, are required to purchase tickets. The ticket purchase link will be shared soon on our website.

It is important to note that the art performance must be conducted in Tamizh. You must include a list of the songs you will be performing or dancing, while submitting the performance registration. The registration period will conclude on Sunday, October 25th, at midnight. Please be aware that ATS reserves the right to close registration early if the progam limit is achieved before the specified deadline. The results will be disclosed on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Prior to completing your registration, it is essential to thoroughly review the rules and regulations provided below. Additionally, there is a refundable deposit of $100 to be paid for registration. The deposit will be refunded in three to five business days after the event. No show will be donated to ATS.

Based on the feedback from our Austin community members, we have not selected a Theme for this year celebration.

Groups must have at least four participants, and performances must not exceed four minutes.

To register:

• Submit participants' first & last names (in English and Tamil)
• Age (if under 18)
• First three lines of each chosen song(s)
• Team name
• Coordinator and Choreographer name
• A brief introduction to your performance, and any past performance video or practice video for audition

Rules and Regulations:

1. Participants are limited to only one performance.
2. All performances must be group acts with a minimum of four participants.
3. Performances are restricted to a maximum duration of four minutes, except a skit, which necessitates a minimum of eight actors and may extend up to ten minutes. Only outstanding scripts will be chosen subsequent to the audition process.
4. While submitting your application, include a 'video link' of your past performance (maximum of 3 video links, ensure the links work). If you dont have past video, send your current practice video.
5. Should you be selected by the audition committee, it is imperative that you confirm your willingness to perform on December 5th via email within 24 hours of receiving notification. A failure to respond within this timeframe will result in the opportunity being extended to the next candidate. The $100 refundable deposit submitted during registration will be reimbursed to you upon your arrival at the event. In the event that your team does not advance past the audition or is placed on the waitlist, the deposit will be refunded following the announcement of the results. Please note that if you do not attend on December 5th, the $100 refundable deposit will be treated as a donation to ATS.
6. Decisions made by the audition committee are final.
7. Limited spots are available for the performance, and registration may close early if the limit is reached before the deadline. Early registration is a requirement. However it does not guarantee selection, but the program's quality does. ATS audition committee follows a fair selection process to choose the best program.
8. Participation in the cultural performance implies consent for the sharing of videos on WhatsApp and social media platforms. If you do not consent, please communicate this in writing via email, including the program name, participant's picture, and name as soon as you receive the audition committee results.
9. For the purpose of ensuring fairness and diversity, please note that only a single submission will be accepted from each coordinator.
10. When multiple teams submit the same song, it will be awarded to the team with the highest score from the audition committee. Other teams will have the opportunity to select a different song and are supposed to submit the new list within 2 days after being informed.
11. All songs, dance steps, and costumes must adhere to family-friendly standards, ensuring they are suitable for audiences of all ages.
