• ECHOES OF MEMORY FELLOWSHIP | MUSICIANS APPLICATION

  • Thank you for your interest in our inaugural fellowship. We want to hear you play, and we want to know who you are.

    This takes about thirty minutes and comes in four parts: a few details about you, a video of you performing, a short bio, and some questions about what music means in your life.

    One thing to prepare first. Your video goes in as a link, not a file. Upload two short pieces to YouTube, Google Drive, or Vimeo, set the video to "Anyone with the link can view," and check the link opens for someone who is not you.

    A phone video is completely fine, and please do not spend money on the recording. One take of each is perfect. We are listening to you play, not judging the camera.

    There are no wrong answers to anything we ask. Write the way you talk.

    Play two short pieces, one classical and one modern, two classical, two modern, up to you. Play what you would play for your friends, or a piece you feel you have mastered.

    You can record both in one video, or send two, whatever is easier. Video recordings uploaded from your phone are fine. Paste the link here (YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo with video set to “Anyone with the link can view”), and please check it works for someone who is not you.

    We want to know what makes you you in a few sentences, in your own words. Where you are from, what you play, what you are working toward, whatever you want us to know.

    Do you believe music and art can help us feel better, even heal? What do you think is music’s purpose in people’s lives? And what does music mean in yours? A few short paragraphs, up to about 300 words, or a couple of minutes of video (paste the link to the video here and make sure to set the video to “Anyone with the link can view”).
