Registration is now open for the MAPS September program at the Colonial Williamsburg Collections and Conservation Building, 309 1st Street, Williamsburg, VA.
We will begin with a brief lunch gathering and meeting at the Bruton Heights School Education Center at 12:15, then walk across the green to the Collections and Conservation Building. This building is not open to the public and is available by special arrangement only. The program will feature two parts: Kate Rogers, Associate Curator of Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture, will present a talk on the pastel collection with slides and selected works from the collection that will be passed around for viewing. We will then visit one of the conservation labs, where a conservator will discuss and demonstrate conservation activities; the conservator joining us is a pastel expert.
LUNCH: You may bring your own bag lunch, or you may order a boxed lunch. Boxed lunches will include a choice of half subs or wraps, plus chips, a chocolate cookie, and a bottle of water. Lunches will be purchased from Publix, and one of our members will pick them up and bring them to the Education Center. You can place your lunch order and make payment on the reservation form. After completing the registration form and clicking the Submit button below, you will be directed to a payment link if you are purchasing lunch.
