  • This form has two components: 

    1. The Code of Conduct for volunteering at Radford College and

    2. The volunteering opportunities for the 2026 Twilight Fete 

    This form is for volunteering at the 2026 Twilight Fete organised by the Radford College Parents & Friends Association. 

    Radford College Volunteer Code of Conduct

    Radford College volunteers play a vital role in strengthening our community, supporting students and contributing to the life of the College.

    To assist the school to maintain a safe learning environment, volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Declaration (at the end of this form) and to comply with the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

    At Radford College, volunteers will:

    • act in a manner that is supportive of the school’s ethos and values.
    • observe similar standards of behaviour, dress and ethical conduct to that required of staff.  This means to act lawfully, honestly and respectfully; performing their duties to the best of their ability.
    • observe confidentiality in respect to information gained through their participation as a volunteer.
    • observe safe work practices and follow instructions given by staff.
    • report any incidents or accidents to the Community Engagement Manager or Radford College Staff Member
    • treat students with respect and endeavour to build positive and affirming relationships with others in the school community.
    • be familiar with school policies and guidelines on relevant issues (depending upon your role).
    • work under the direction of a staff member and seek advice from staff whenever appropriate.
    • possess current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card registration (not required for the Radford College Twilight Fete).
    • be available for to attend a pre-twilight fete volunteer information session.

  • Relationship to the Student(s)
  • Do you hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Accreditation? For stalls that sell alcohol, it is a legal requirement for volunteers to hold an RSA. The RSA is easily obtained via https://clubtraining.com.au/courses/rsa-online/ for $28 that will be reimbursed to volunteers that complete the self-paced course in time for the Twilight Fete and you are volunteering at a stall selling alcohol.
  • General Expectations for all Volunteers

  • General Expectations 

    • If your year group allocations are filled, you are welcome to allocate your time to another stall! 
    • You can volunteer for more than one role e.g preparing fairy floss, or setting up inside the T.B.Miller Hall just as long as its not at the same time. 
    • Arrive 10 minutes before the start of your shift.
    • Sign in with your Stall Coordinator.
    • Wear enclosed shoes and appropriate clothing for weather conditions.
    • Follow all school and fete safety procedures.
    • Be friendly, welcoming and helpful to visitors.
    • Helping to transport supplies and equipment to designated stall locations. 
    • Reporting any site or safety concerns to the Community Engagement Manager or Stall Coordinator. 

    Stall Coordinator Information 

    Each stall is assigned a Stall Coordinator who is responsible for the overall operation of the stall. 

    Stall Coordinators will: 

    • Oversee stall set-up and pack-down. 
    • Brief volunteers on tasks and safety requirements.
    • Manage stock and supplies throughout the event. 
    • Provide support and answer volunteer questions.
    • Coordinate shift changes and volunteer sign-in. 
    • Act as the primary point of contact for any issues stall related during the fete with the support of the Community Engagement Manager and Parent & Friends Committee. 

    Volunteer Information

    • Please report directly to your Stall Coordinator at the beginning of your shift. 
    • Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow for handover and briefing. 
    • Notify the Community Engagement Manager if you are unable to attend your shift. 

    Volunteer Parking

    Parking will be available on-site for volunteers only on fete day. 

    To assist with event operations and visitor safety:

    • Volunteers will need to enter via the Hayden Drive entrance and follow parking instructions provided by the security guards. Your name will be noted and marked off. 
    • Carpooling is encouraged where possible. 
    • Please allow sufficient time to park and report to your Stall Coordinator before your shift begins. 
    • Accessible parking spaces will remain reserved for authorised permit holders. 

    Further parking instructions and site access will be communicated closer to the event. 

     

  • Friday, 6 November - Preparation Day

  • Set up stalls inside T.B. Millar Hall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Positioning tables and chairs 
    • Installing and securing stall signage
    • Assisting stall coordinators with stall layouts 
    • Helping transport supplies and equipment to designated stall locations 
    • Reporting any site or safety concerns to the Community Engagement Manager

     

     

  • Set Up T.B Millar Hall - Preferred time slot
  • Fairy Floss Preparation

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Prepare fairy floss bags ahead of the fete 
    • Package and seal products
    • Count and record quantities prepared
    • Pack finished products into storage containers ready for transport 

    This activitity will take place in the G.Wigg Sports Centre kitchen. All equipment, aprons and gloves will be provided to volunteers. Along with training and supervision by a Parents & Friends committee member. 

     

  • Fairy Floss - Preferred time slot
  • Saturday, 7 November - Twilight Fete Day

  • Setting up of Turning Circle

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Setting up marquees 
    • Positioning table and chairs according to site plans 
    • Installing and securing stall signage 
    • Assist stall coordinators with stall layouts
    • Setting up waste and recycling stations where required 
    • Assisting with the placement of barriers, fencing and directional signage 
    • Helping to transport supplies and equipment to designated stall locations

    What to Bring 

    • Close-toe shoes
    • Hat and sun protection 
    • Water bottle
    • Work gloves (optional) 

    Physical Requirements 

    Volunteers should be comfortable with light to moderate lifting, carrying tables and equipment and working outdoors. Tasks can be adjusted to accommodate for different abilities.

  • Popcorn Bag Preparation

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Prepare popcorn ahead of the fete 
    • Package and seal products
    • Count and record quantities prepared
    • Pack finished products into storage containers ready for transport 

    This activitity will take place in the T.B Millar Hall kitchen. All equipment, aprons and gloves will be provided to volunteers. Along with training and supervision by a Parents & Friends committee member. 

     

  • Popcorn Preparation - Only time slot available
  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Sell ride tickets and bottled water
    • Hand out pre-sale ride tickets 
    • Provide directions and event information to visitors
    • Manage EFTPOS transactions
    • Maintain supplies of tickets and water
  • Pack down of Turning Circle & T.B Millar Hall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    Pack-down of tables and chairs for collection
    Removing stall signage
    Assisting stall coordinators with the packdown of stalls inside T.B. Millar Hall and the Turning Circle 
    Return stall tubs to storage room 

  • Pack Down Turning Circle and T.B. Millar Hall - Only time slot available
  • Pre-K and Kindergarten: ELC Healthy Food Stall

  • What is being served: Juice poppers, water, fruit cups and popcorn. 

    Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Maintain an attractive food display
    • Serve healthy snacks and drinks
    • Handle EFTPOS transactions as required 
    • Monitor stock levels and keep area tidy 
    • Follow food handling and hygiene requirements 

     

  • ELC Healthy Food - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 1: Second-Hand Accessories

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Display and organise donated accessories
    • Assist customers with purchases
    • Handle EFTPOS transactions as required  
    • Keep stock neat and replenished
    • Pack unsold items at the of the shift if required 

     

  • Second-Hand Accessories - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 2: Lob-a-Choc

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Sell game tickets
    • Explain game rules to participants
    • Supervise game play and distribute prizes (chocolate bars/blocks) 
    • Ensure fair participation and safe operation 
    • Keep the stall area organised 

     

  • Lob-a-Choc - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 3: Second-Hand Book Stall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Assist in keeping books in order of category or age group 
    • Process sales 
    • Restock tables as needed
    • Help maintain a welcoming and tidy display 

     

  • Second-Hand Books - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 4: Sweet and Sticky Stall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Serve confectionary and treats
    • Monitor food presentation and stock levels
    • Process sales
    • Maintain cleanliness and food hygiene practices
    • Assist with packing down at the end of the event 
  • Sweet and Sticky Stall - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 5: Second-Hand Uniform Stall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Organise uniforms by size and item 
    • Assist families in locating uniform pieces
    • Process sales
    • Keep displays tidy throughout the event 
    • Assist with remaining stock after the fete 
  • Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 6: Fairy Floss

    and Plant Stall
  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Operate or assist with fairy floss machines (training provided) 
    • Package and distribute fairy floss
    • Process sales 
    • Keep work areas clean and safe
    • Monitor supplies and advise Stall Coordinator when stock is running low 
  • Fairy Floss Stall - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • If you can lend a hand at the Plant Stall - scroll further down to Years 9 and 10 and allocate your preferred time to assist with the stall. 

  • Year 7: Showbags Stall

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Organise showbags for display
    • Answer customer questions regarding contents and pricing
    • Process sales 
    • Restock display stock as reqiuired
    • Monitor inventory throughout your allocated shift
  • Showbags Stall - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 8: Water and Ticket Station (J.A. Mackinnon Oval)

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Sell ride tickets and bottled water
    • Hand out pre-sale ride tickets 
    • Provide directions and event information to visitors
    • Manage EFTPOS transactions
    • Maintain supplies of tickets and water
  • Water and Ticket Station - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 9 and 10: Plant Stall

  • Plant Stall Volunteers 

    • Assist with display
    • Serve customers
    • Manage EFTPOS transactions 

     

  • Plant - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 11: Champagne & Oysters

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Check identification for proof of age 
    • Serve approved food and beverages in accordance with event procedures 
    • Maintain clean serving area
    • Monitor stock levels
    • Ensure responsible service practices are followed at all times 
    • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate required. 

    Need to obtain an RSA?

    The RSA is easily obtained via https://clubtraining.com.au/courses/rsa-online/ for $28 that will be reimbursed to volunteers that complete the self-paced course.

    - Certificate emailed upon completion
    - Valid for ACT requirements and renewed every 3 years 

  • Champagne & Oysters - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Year 12: Beer Garden

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: 

    • Check identification for proof of age  
    • Serve approved food and beverages in accordance with event procedures 
    • Maintain clean serving area
    • Monitor stock levels
    • Ensure responsible service practices are followed at all times 
    • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate required. 

    Need to obtain an RSA?

    The RSA is easily obtained via https://clubtraining.com.au/courses/rsa-online/ for $28 that will be reimbursed by the Parents & Friends to volunteers that complete the self-paced course.

    - Certificate emailed upon completion
    - Valid for ACT requirements and renewed every 3 years

  • Beer Garden - Preferred time slot (you can select up to three time slots)
  • Working with Vulnerable People

  • Do you have a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration Card?

    While a WWVP Registration is not necessary for volunteering at the Twilight Fete, it is required for parents and community members who would like to volunteer in other College programs throughout the year, including:

    • Coaching and team management
    • Mentoring students
    • Assisting with regular classroom activities
    • Supporting excursions, camps, and other student-focused programs

    Holding a current WWVP Registration helps us connect volunteers with a wider range of opportunities within the College community.

    If you do hold a WWVP Registration, please enter your registration number and expiry date below. This information will be added to the college WWVP Volunteer Management System.  

  • Agreement to Code of Conduct

  • This is to acknowledge I have received and reviewed the Radford College Volunteer Code of Conduct. I agree to comply with the standards contained in the Code and all related policies and procedures as is required as part of my volunteering or association with the College. I acknowledge the Code is only a statement of principles and does not constitute an employment contract.

    I will report any potential violation of which I become aware promptly to the College.  I understand that any any breaches of this Code of Conduct will be referred to the Principal for appropriate action.
