2026 Battle of the Bands Application

Calling All Youth Bands!

Think you've got what it takes to rock the stage? Here's your shot!

Apply now to compete in the "Battle of the Bands" at the 54th annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair! We're looking for talented youth amateur bands to submit a video audition by Friday, September 25, 2026.

Details:

Preference given to bands from South Bay middle and high schools
Three bands will be selected to perform a 15 minute set live on Sunday, October 4, 2026
A panel of judges will select the winner based on the live performance
Grand Prize - A headline spot on the Dietz Stage at the 2027 Hometown Fair!

And that's not all- last year's winner, Don't Touch the Sun, will return to showcase their new album right after this year's showdown. Can't wait to welcome them back!

Note: Images and videos from the event may be used for promotional purposes on www.mbfair.org and social media channels.

All selected bands must be available to perform on the morning of October 4, 2026.

Participation is granted solely by stage manager who has the right to bar anyone from the competition for any reason.

The undersigned agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair Association, the Board of Directors and the City of Manhattan Beach and its elective or appointive boards, officers, agents, attorneys and employees from any and all claims, liabilities, expenses, or damages of any nature, including attorney fees arising out of, or in any way connected with performance of, the Agreement by the undersigned, the undersigned agents, officers, employees, subcontractors, or independent contractors hired by the undersigned. This indemnity shall apply to all claims and liability regardless of whether any insurance policies are applicable. The policy limits do not act a limitation upon the amount of indemnification to be provided by the undersigned.
