Research Staff and Postdocs: Pledge to vote YES on the Strike Authorization Vote!
In order to win a strong contract that meets our needs as UW Research Staff and Postdocs, we need to build our collective power by demonstrating a credible strike threat through majority participation in pledging to vote Yes on the Strike Authorization Vote (SAV) on November 9th. A SAV is a democratic membership vote to demonstrate unit readiness to go on strike and a tool to put pressure on UW Administration into making movement. A SAV doesn’t necessarily mean we will go on strike, but it empowers the bargaining committee to call for a strike if UW is not bargaining fairly.

The more of us that take these actions, the more power we have at the bargaining tables to move UW Administration towards fair contracts for Research Staff and Postdocs that strengthen our rights, our research, and our future at UW.

To build our power through a credible strike threat, massive numbers of Research Staff and Postdocs are gathering 12-1pm on September 23rd at Drumheller Fountain. Masks are recommended and will be provided to attendees. It's time to show management we demand a fair contract now!
