Audition Information for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN

Please fill out the audition form below. Complete the form by scheduling your audition slot.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 season, ALL auditions will move to 30-minute time slots of ten people or less.

Performers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their time slot.

Auditions are closed, which means only those auditioning may be in the house. Anyone - including all parents, grandparents, siblings, and/or legal guardians - who is not signed up for the audition in that particular time slot is to remain in the lobby until the audition process is finished.

Auditions are appointment only; you must schedule your appointment below to finalize this audition form and secure your spot. 

Show Dates: Jan. 15-24, 2027 (with the option of a third weekend, depending on ticket demand)

Mandatory Dates: Jan. 9 (Q2Q), Jan. 10-14 (Tech Week), Jan. 15-24 (Show Dates/Pick Up/Strike). Availability throughout the rehearsal process may affect casting.

Location: 238 S. Clay Street, Gastonia NC, 28052. Parking is adjacent to the building.

Show Rating: G 

This show requires an ensemble cast of 6+ performers of all race, sex, gender, sexuality, nationality, and experience level.  The age of performers will be cast according the the ages of those who audition, and minors will not be cast opposite of adults. The director may offer additional ensemble/dance roles. The casting team is looking for a diverse group of performers across the board. 

CONFLICTS for rehearsals of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN

Please note that current rehearsal dates are tentative and may change. Not all performers may be called for every single rehearsal and that will be noted in the finalized calendar given out at the first rehearsal. 

Please note that amount of conflicts and/or certain conflict dates may affect casting.

 

Tentative Rehearsal Dates: Mondays - Fridays, October 27, 2026 - January 14, 2027 from 7-10pm. Time will be taken off for major holidays.

AVAILABLE ROLES 

CHARLIE BROWN: Male presenting. Sad, morose, with a bleak outlook and deadpan delivery, Charlie struggles to find meaning and his own place in the world.

Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor - Bb2 to F4.

Dance Ability: Standard+

SNOOPY: Female or male presenting. Charlie Brown's scene-stealing, mischevious, full of joy dog. Snoopy has a large dance number, so experienced dance and/or tumble, cheer, gymanstics training preferred.

Vocal Range: Alto/Tenor - C3 to A4

Dance Ability: Experienced

SALLY BROWN: Female presenting. Charming, intelligent, and Charlie's argumenative younger sister with a sharp intensity. Has a crush on Linus.

Vocal Range: Soprano/Mezzo - B3 to Ab5; belt

Dance Ability: Standard+

LUCY VAN PELT: Female presenting. Domineering, self-obsessed, often pushy, hiding her soft, compassionate side behind being a bully. Fully in love with Schroeder, who doesn't share the feelings. 

Vocal Range: Mezzo/Alto - G3 to F#5; belt

Dance Ability: Standard+

LINUS VAN PELT: Male presenting. Sensitive, smart and mature for his age,  he hides behind his blanket, often sucking his thumb while dropping wisdom.

Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor - Bb2 to E4 

Dance Ability: Standard+

SCHROEDER:Male presenting. Musically gifted, quiet, and obsessed with playing the piano and composer Beethoven.

Vocal Range: Tenor - Bb2 to Ab4

Dance Ability: Standard+

PLEASE NOTE

 Mainstage productions do not have any fees associated with auditions and/or callbacks. 

*If cast, performers ARE required to provide the following:

-Shoes (unless otherwise noted). Depending on the production and the character, this can include sneakers, boots, dress, character and/or jazz shoes.

-Make-up (unless otherwise noted). 

-Undergarments (unless otherwise noted). This includes but does not exclude: underwear, undershirts, bras, socks, hoisery, dance belts, dance shorts and/or nudies, depending on the production and character.

*If cast, performers MAY be asked to provide the following:

-Costume Pieces: which are usually pants or common staple pieces performers already own. If performers do not already own the piece but decide to purchase it, they own that piece unless they choose to donate it. If performers do not already own the piece and do not want to purchase it, they will not be required to do so.

-Accessory Pieces: if the performer already owns accessories that are needed in the script or desired for costuming purposes, such as jewlery, hats, wigs, purses, etc. - they may be asked to bring those in. The performer is not required to purchase these pieces. 

*If cast, and the show has RENTED MATERIALS (specifically scripts, librettos, and/or music books), performers are required to put down a $50 script deposit. This fee will be held until rented materials are returned in proper condition and then given back to the performer. 

-Script deposit are due at the first rehearsal. 

-Script deposit can be taken via credit card number on file, personal check, or cash in an envelope with the performer's name on it. 

-Script deposit are kept locked in the office until strike.
