LEAD: Silas Kotts (Age 14; playing age 12-16)

Quiet and reserved, Silas relies on his family to be the friends he never had. Uncomfortable with the family's recent move to Lackey, Nevada, Silas clings to his older brother Colby for a sense of security.

LEAD: Silas Kotts* (Age 17; playing age 16-21)

After the death of his brother, Silas is the same aloof kid, now with an added bitterness that wasn't there before. Resentful against his family for moving on so quickly, Silas still grapples with his brothers death on a day-to-day basis.

*Feel free to audition for both younger AND older Silas. If the shoe fits, we'd love one person to play both characters.

Colby Kotts (Age 17; playing age 16-21)

Friendly and optimistic, Colby is someone easy to be around. Even though he's always hoping to meet someone new, he cares the most about his younger brother. Protecting him is his highest priority.

Bridgette Kotts (Age 10; playing age 10-12)

Witty for her age, Bridgette grows up curious about the mysteries of the family. Too young to ignore and too old to lie to, Bridgette can have a conversation with anyone.

Dennis (Age 17; playing age 16-21)

As Colby's best friend, the Kotts are like Dennis's second family. He likes to work with his hands and appreciates honesty over anything else.

Dennis (Age 20; playing age 18-24)

After Colby's passing, Dennis tries to stay busy with his work at the auto shop. Yet, he is constantly burdened with a feeling of responsibility for Silas in Colby's absence.

Emily (Age 20; playing age 17-23)

Growing up deaf, Emily has learned to adapt to most situations. Ever since the river took her sister's life 6 years ago, Emily remains grateful and content to the best of her ability.

Mrs. (Mary) Kotts (Age 50; playing age 40-55)

Devoted to taking care of her family, Mary has focused her energy on raising Bridgette after Colby's death. She can't help but see Silas as a lost cause.

Lana Suarez (Age 44; playing age 35-45)

Ever since the river took her son and broke apart her family, Lana has locked herself in her house. Stuck at rock bottom, Lana finds it hard to empathize with anyone else.

Mr. (Jacob) Kotts (Age 50; playing age 40-55)

With less-than-ideal emotional intelligence, Mr. Kotts sees that the best way he can support his family is to work. Since Colby's passing, he embraces being away from home.
