  • I want to share information about the Technology Student Association (TSA) and the many opportunities available through this student organization. TSA is for students interested in pursuing careers in STEM, technology, engineering, robotics, computer science, and related fields. Members gain valuable experience through competitions, leadership activities, and real-world applications of technology. There are opportunities to network with other students and professionals locally, statewide, and even nationally!
  • Our TSA chapter coordinates multiple events throughout the year. Students can participate in field trips to technology and STEM-related venues, attend competitions at the district, state, and national level, and collaborate with other student organizations. These experiences allow students to apply classroom knowledge to hands-on activities, problem-solving, and teamwork in meaningful ways.
  • TSA members also compete in specialized events that align with their interests and skills in areas such as robotics, coding, engineering design, software development, and other STEM-related competitions. In past years, our chapter has sent dozens of students to compete at district and state competitions, with the opportunity to advance to the National TSA Conference based on their performance. All competitions require active membership in TSA. District dues are covered by our chapter, and national or state-level participation may involve additional costs for meals, transportation, and lodging as needed.
  • Additionally, TSA members are eligible for scholarships and awards, including:
    • National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) – scholarships and recognition for dual members
    • William P. Elrod Memorial Scholarship – $2,500 awarded annually to one TSA student
    • National TSA Alumni/ae Scholarship – $1,000 award for an alumnus/alumna
  • TSA provides students with countless opportunities to develop leadership, technical, and collaborative skills that will benefit them in their future careers, whether or not they pursue a STEM-related field. Students currently in engineering, computer science, health sciences, and other fields have all benefited from TSA involvement. If your student is interested, please complete the TSA membership application. I also encourage parents to consider joining as supportive members of our chapter. TSA provides unique experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and professionally.
