In 2027, we are celebrating the 162nd Annual Emancipation Proclamation Association Parade and the 163rd anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s signing and announcing the “Emancipation Proclamation” on January 1, 1863.
This parade is the most consistent in the United States. We are thrilled to celebrate this significant milestone event!

Parade Rules and Policies
All parade participants, please note the parade rules and entry information. Thank you for your participation in the past, and we appreciate your compliance with the following guidelines:
- NO revving of motorcycle engines per the City of Charleston regulations
- An authorized adult MUST accompany all children in the parade and always remain with them
- Children WILL NOT be allowed to ride on the hood or on top of automobiles
- NO TOSSING OF CANDY OR THROWING OF other items along the parade route
- NO WEAPONS, CONCEALED OR OPEN CARRY ARE ALLOWED ON THE FLOATS OR IN THE PARADE
