The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School is a public school that is free for all students. TEP has 120 seats for students entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026. TEP anticipates that more than 120 students will submit applications. Therefore, TEP will hold a lottery to fill its Kindergarten class.

Each prospective student will have one name entered into the lottery drawing. Names will be selected, one at a time, until all tickets have been drawn. After the lottery is completed, TEP will inform you as to whether your child has been awarded one of the open seats at TEP. If your child is not awarded an open seat through the lottery, your child will be placed on a waiting list for future openings. TEP's lottery is open to any student residing in New York City who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026. However, admissions preference is given to students who reside in Community School District 6.

In addition, TEP has reserved a portion of its available seats for students who receive Special Education Services. This information is determined by the student's current records OR by parent / guardian affirmation on the student's application. If there is conflicting information as to a student's Special Education status, TEP makes a file determination using its best judgment.
