High School Advisor for Middle School YIG
High school seniors will help middle school students in YMCA after school programs prepare for the Middle School Model Legislature conference in November. High school advisors will go to a YMCA once a week for an hour to work with middle school students. Meetings start the second week of September and continue through the second week of November. High school advisors select which Y they want to work with. YMCA YIG provides training, materials, and weekly projects. Meetings are from 4-5 p.m., so high school advisors must have early dismissal and transportation. High school advisors can select which day of the week they can work with middle school students. YIG experience is preferred but not required. High school advisors do not need to attend the middle school conference November 15-17, but are welcome to do so. High school advisors will receive 36 service hours.
