METG 2026/2027 Membership Registration Form
Please use form below to register for the 2026/2027 Season. We will also be using this form to collect some data for the upcoming year. The deadline to register is October 17, 2026.

The registration fees for the 26/27 school year are:
- Middle School - $375
- High School - $525
These fees include an entry into our One Act Festival as well as discounted registrations for our Musical Theater Awards, workshops and contests.

Please note that this registration form is for membership only. Programming registrations (MT Awards, Festivals, Contests, etc.) will be sent out separately.

  Membership
  
  Membership in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild is governed by the METG Board of Trustees, as established in Article IV, Section 1 of the METG Bylaws:
  
  Membership in the METG is open to all public, private or parochial schools that support the mission of the METG, have applied for membership pursuant to Board-established procedures, and have paid dues for the year.
  
  The METG is strongest when its member schools approach one another not simply as participants, but as partners in a shared educational community.
  
  Competition, performance, recognition, and artistic achievement are important parts of many METG experiences, but they exist in service of a larger purpose: providing students with opportunities to learn, create, take artistic risks, build relationships, and grow through theater.
  
  By maintaining membership in the METG, each member school affirms its commitment to these expectations and accepts responsibility for helping foster a respectful, ethical, collaborative, and student-centered METG community.
  
  Member Code of Conduct
  
  As a member of the METG, our school commits to supporting the Guild's mission, values, programs, and community. We recognize that our conduct reflects not only on our individual school and theater program but also on the larger METG community.
  
  Member schools agree to:
  - Participate actively in the METG community, including having appropriate school representation at the Annual Meeting and other required membership activities.
    Engage with fellow members in a spirit of collegiality and cooperation, recognizing that differing perspectives, experiences, and opinions strengthen our community.
  - Demonstrate respect and courtesy at METG events, treating students, educators, volunteers, adjudicators, staff, Board members, host schools, audience members, and other participants with dignity.
  - Model positive leadership, encouraging behavior that reflects integrity, responsibility, collaboration, good sportsmanship, and care for the broader METG community.
  - Maintain professional and ethical conduct in interactions with all members of the METG community—both students and adults—as well as with host communities, venues, partners, and the public.
  - Keep students and their educational experience at the center of our work, fostering theater programs and METG experiences that prioritize student learning, growth, creativity, collaboration, and well-being.
  - Promote an environment in which students can participate with dignity and respect, and in which harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, retaliation, or other harmful conduct is not tolerated.
  - Respect the people, spaces, and resources that make METG programs possible, including host schools, performance venues, rehearsal and backstage spaces, equipment, materials, and the work of staff and volunteers.
  - Honor the history, spirit, as well as the rules of METG programs and events, participating honestly, responsibly, and in good faith.
  - Acknowledge and abide by the METG Attestation of Artistic Integrity, including the expectations it establishes for the creation, preparation, and presentation of student work.
  - Take responsibility for the conduct of our school community at METG activities, communicating applicable METG expectations to participating students, staff, directors, chaperones, caregivers, volunteers, and others representing the school.
  - Address concerns constructively and through appropriate METG processes, seeking resolution in a manner that respects students, fellow members, volunteers, staff, and the integrity of the Guild.
  Failure to abide by the Member Code of Conduct will result in review by the METG Board of Trustees (BOT). The BOT retains final jurisdiction on all disciplinary outcomes relative to violations of the Member Code of Conduct.
  
  Potential outcomes include:
  - First violation: Warning from the METG Executive Director and a letter to a school’s administration
  - Second Violation: One-year suspension from all METG programs
  - Third Violation: Exclusion from all METG programs while the adult of record is a listed representative of the member.
  Participation and Withdrawal
  
  Membership in the METG includes a commitment to responsible participation in Guild-sponsored programs and events. When a school or student registers for an METG event, program, festival, contest, or other activity, the METG relies upon that commitment in its planning and in providing opportunities for all participating schools and students.
  
  Member schools are therefore expected to honor their commitments to participate. Repeated withdrawals from METG-sponsored activities—including school-based and individual student programs, festivals, contests, and other events—may result in referral to the METG Board of Trustees for review.
  
  The Board will consider the circumstances surrounding such withdrawals, including emergencies, extenuating circumstances, and a member school’s communication with the METG. When the Board determines that a pattern of withdrawals demonstrates a failure to meet membership responsibilities, the member school may be subject to suspension from METG membership for at least one year.
  
  Member schools are expected to communicate anticipated withdrawals to the METG as promptly as possible and to work in good faith with METG leadership when circumstances affect their ability to fulfill a participation commitment.

  METG expects all work presented in its programs to reflect the original creative contributions of participating directors, casts, and crews. While productions may utilize plays and musicals (with appropriate licensing), music, choreography, design conventions, and other artistic traditions, participants’ creative choices and contributions should be their own.
  
  Artistic inspiration is a vital part of the creative process; replication is not.
  
  By registering as a member of METG, I agree to uphold the following standards in any work I submit for METG adjudication:
  - Work I submit for METG adjudication will not be created using generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  - Artistic material encountered online or in live performance may serve as inspiration, but I will not replicate that material, except where required or expressly permitted by applicable licensing.
  - I understand that I will be asked to affirm compliance with these standards when submitting work for METG adjudication.
  - I understand that failure to uphold these standards may result in disqualification from current and/or future participation in METG programs.
  Suspected violations of this policy will be referred to the respective Division Executive Council President. The METG Board of Trustees retains final jurisdiction over all disciplinary decisions regarding artistic integrity.
