• 2026 - 2027 tSB Volunteer Application

Each year, the Service Board brings together a group of high school students and adult mentors from a diverse range of academic, racial, cultural and economic backgrounds to engage in our Winter Program. Program participants meet twice weekly from beginning of winter through spring. Weekday workshops focus on engaging discussions encompassing a broad range of social justice topics. Weekend activities rotate between intensive service learning projects and snowboarding, hence our name: the Service Board.
  • Our Winter Program is now offered as two separate sessions.

Winter Program Basics (January 2 - Febrary 13) is dedicated to the foundational movements of snowboarding.

    • If you're applying as an SI, it's an opportunity to be someone's first intro to snowboarding! An opporunitiy to provide them with a foundation that will last a lifetime.
    • If you're applying as a mentor, you're best suited for this program if you've never snowboarded before, have a little experience and in need of a refresher, OR simply enjoy hanging with those just starting out.

Winter Program Intermediate (March 13 - April 25) is dedicated to those ready to explore new styles of snowboarding becasue they've already mastered the basics.

    • If you're applying as SI, it's an opporutunity to grow a young person's love for snowboarding through exploring new terrain, learning new tricks, etc.
    • If you're applying as a mentor, you're willing to push your growing edge and expand on your own snowboarding skills as we explore new terrain.

Both programs include weekly, Wednesday social justice workshops, service projects, and retreats!

You are more than welcome to join us for both sessions <3
