Program Location: Rolling Hills Elementary School
Program Hours: 3:30–4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons.
By registering a child for the Wilde Critter Club After-School Program, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to the following policies, permissions, and terms.
1. Independent Program Notice
Wilde Critter Club is an independently operated program and is not sponsored, operated, supervised, or administered by Rolling Hills Elementary School or Fort Worth Independent School District (“FWISD”).
Rolling Hills Elementary School/FWISD provides the location at which the program is conducted. Wilde Critter Club is responsible for the operation, staffing, supervision, curriculum, activities, and animal interactions associated with the program.
2. Program Hours, Arrival & Pick-Up
The Wilde Critter Club After-School Program operates from 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Students participating in the program will report to the designated Wilde Critter Club area in the Bobcat Den following dismissal from the regular school day.
Pick-up will take place in front of the campus at 4:30 p.m.
Children will only be released to a parent/guardian or other person authorized on the participant’s registration form unless Wilde Critter Club receives prior authorization from the parent/guardian.
Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging timely pick-up. If an unexpected delay occurs, the parent/guardian should contact Wilde Critter Club as soon as possible.
3. Participant Health & Safety
The safety of participants, staff, and animals is a priority of Wilde Critter Club.
Participants should not attend if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a known contagious illness, or other symptoms that would prevent them from safely participating in normal program activities.
Parents/guardians are responsible for notifying Wilde Critter Club of any allergies, medical conditions, behavioral considerations, or other information that may reasonably affect their child’s ability to safely participate in program activities or interact with animals.
All required registration information and waivers must be completed before participation.
4. Behavioral Expectations
To maintain a safe and positive environment for participants, staff, guests, and animals, participants are expected to:
- Follow instructions provided by Wilde Critter Club educators and staff.
- Remain with their assigned group and in designated program areas.
- Use respectful and appropriate language and behavior.
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves.
- Respect shared materials and the belongings of others.
- Treat animals gently and respectfully.
- Follow all animal-handling and safety instructions.
Bullying, hitting, biting, spitting, threatening behavior, intentional mistreatment of animals, or other unsafe or seriously disruptive behavior will not be permitted.
When appropriate, behavioral concerns may result in a staff discussion with the participant and/or parent/guardian, temporary removal from an activity, parent/guardian notification, early pick-up, or removal from the program.
Wilde Critter Club reserves the right to require a participant to leave the program when, in its reasonable judgment, the participant’s behavior presents a safety concern or repeatedly interferes with the safety or experience of participants, staff, or animals.
5. Animal Interaction Safety
Hands-on interaction with live animals is an important component of Wilde Critter Club programs. Participants may encounter a variety of animals and must follow all instructions provided by Wilde Critter Club staff.
Participants agree to:
- Touch or handle animals only when instructed that it is safe to do so.
- Use gentle hands and calm voices around animals.
- Refrain from running, shouting, chasing, teasing, startling, or roughly handling animals.
- Refrain from feeding animals unless specifically directed by staff.
- Wash or sanitize their hands when instructed following animal interactions.
Wilde Critter Club staff may restrict or discontinue a participant’s interaction with an animal whenever staff believe doing so is necessary for the safety or welfare of the participant, other participants, staff, or the animal.
6. Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in Wilde Critter Club activities, particularly activities involving live animals, involves certain inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated even when reasonable safety precautions are taken.
These risks may include, but are not limited to, scratches, bites, pinches, allergic reactions, falls, minor injuries, contact with animal hair, feathers, dander, saliva, waste or bodily fluids, exposure to zoonotic illnesses, and unexpected or unpredictable animal behavior.
I understand that animals may react unpredictably to movement, noise, handling, environmental conditions, or other circumstances.
I knowingly and voluntarily authorize my child to participate in Wilde Critter Club activities, including supervised interaction with live animals, and accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with such participation.
7. Release of Liability
In consideration for my child being permitted to participate in Wilde Critter Club activities, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I, on behalf of myself and my participating child, acknowledge and assume the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participation in the program.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Wilde Critter Club and its owners, employees, educators, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from claims arising from the ordinary and inherent risks associated with participation in Wilde Critter Club activities, including supervised interaction with live animals.
I further acknowledge that Rolling Hills Elementary School and Fort Worth Independent School District do not operate or administer the Wilde Critter Club program. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I release and hold harmless Rolling Hills Elementary School, Fort Worth Independent School District, and their trustees, officers, employees, and representatives from claims arising from my child’s participation in activities conducted by Wilde Critter Club, except for claims that cannot lawfully be waived or released.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive any right or claim that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
8. Emergency Medical Authorization
In the event my child becomes ill or injured during the program, I authorize Wilde Critter Club staff to provide reasonable basic first aid and to contact emergency medical services when staff reasonably believe emergency evaluation or treatment may be necessary.
Wilde Critter Club will make reasonable efforts to contact the participant’s parent/guardian or designated emergency contact as soon as practicable.
I understand that I remain responsible for medical expenses incurred on behalf of my child unless otherwise required by law.
9. Photography & Media Release
Wilde Critter Club may take photos or short videos during program activities for educational or promotional purposes.
These images may be used on:
- The Wilde Critter Club website
- Social media pages
- Promotional materials
No identifying personal information about participants will be shared. If you do not wish for your child to appear in photos or videos, please notify us in writing before the start of the event/program.
10. Registration & Payment Policy
The program fee is $130 per student. A 10% sibling discount is available for families registering multiple students.
Advance registration is required. Walk-up participation is not permitted.
Payment is due upon registration to secure the participant’s space. An invoice and payment instructions will be emailed after the registration form is submitted.
Registration is not considered complete until all required forms and waivers have been submitted and payment arrangements have been completed.
11. Cancellation & Refund Policy
If cancellation is requested before the program start date, families may choose either:
- A credit toward a future Wilde Critter Club event, after-school program, or summer camp used within one year; or
- A full refund.
Because staffing, animals, supplies, and program materials are arranged in advance, cancellations requested after the program has begun will be refunded on a prorated basis according to the number of sessions remaining.
Refunds or credits will not be issued for individual missed sessions or no-shows, or if a participant is removed from the program due to unsafe, seriously disruptive, or repeated inappropriate behavior in accordance with the Behavioral Expectations outlined in this agreement.
Wilde Critter Club reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to low enrollment, severe weather, campus closure, animal welfare concerns, circumstances beyond our reasonable control, or other conditions that make conducting the program impractical or unsafe. If Wilde Critter Club cancels the entire program, families will be offered an appropriate refund or credit.
12. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment
By signing below, I certify that:
- I am the parent or legal guardian of the participating child, or I otherwise have legal authority to provide the permissions contained in this agreement.
- I have provided accurate emergency contact and relevant health/safety information for my child.
- I have read and understand the program policies, behavioral expectations, animal safety requirements, assumption of risk, and release of liability contained in this agreement.
- I understand that Wilde Critter Club is an independently operated program and is not operated or administered by Rolling Hills Elementary School or Fort Worth Independent School District.
- I voluntarily authorize my child to participate in the Wilde Critter Club After-School Program subject to these terms.
