The Tribal Energy & Climate Collaborative is seeking board member nominations (including self-nominations) for the following three roles/seats on the TECC Executive Committee:
- Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Chair
- Energy Lead
- Climate Lead
Each position carries a two-year term, allowing staggered terms with the 4 committee members who are continuing for another year. Individuals are not reimbursed for their participation; however, Tribes can receive a stipend of up to $150 per meeting across eligible programs (subject to your Tribe's stipend budget caps). Leaders or employees of a TECC Tribe are invited to apply. Ultimately, any elected Executive Committee members must be authorized by their Tribe to participate in the Executive Committee (with only one Executive Committee seat per Tribe).
Requirements
Executive Committee requirements include one 60-minute monthly meeting and responsiveness to intermittent communications. TECC Executive Committee members will:
- Provide strategic direction on TECC programming, fundraising, and events
- Help to co-create a charter outlining the committee’s work
- Provide/build subject matter expertise
- OPTIONAL: Participate in regular program meetings with TECC staff
Timeline
- Aug. 26 - Sep. 18: Call for nominations period open
- Sep. 23- Oct. 7: Depending on the number of applications, voting will take place (Each Tribe can cast one vote via an online form)
- Oct 7 - 12: Newly elected members will be notified and confirm participation; once slate is confirmed, TECC Board email will announce results.
- Oct. 26: first Executive Committee meeting takes place
