2026 Downtown Scarecrows

Main Street is getting a fall makeover and we need your scarecrows!

Businesses, non-profits, and school groups are invited to create one-of-a-kind scarecrows that will line our streets and bring a pop of seasonal fun downtown.

Think bold, think creative, think festive!

We can’t wait to see your scarecrow come to life and join the celebration.

The Downtown Scarecrows are back!

Applications are due by September 11th, and scarecrow kits will be ready for pickup September 17-18th.

When completed, your creations must be delivered to the GAD office by October 9th, so they’re set to take over Main Street October 13-31. 

Don’t wait—grab your scarecrow while you can! (Applications will close when all scarecrows have been claimed. ). Once they’re up, these scarecrows will add plenty of fall fun and personality to downtown through the week after Halloween.

This year voting will return for our Trick or Treat event:

• Main Street Monster Mash – On October 24th, scarecrows will be the stars of our brand-new fall celebration, featuring trick-or-treating downtown.
• Howl-o-ween Dog Parade – In partnership with the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, our four-legged friends will get their chance to strut their stuff!
• Scarecrow Voting – All voting will happen live during the Monster Mash. The top five scarecrows will be spotlighted all year long on the event page and featured in the Downtowner until next year’s winners take their place.

We can’t wait to see the creativity (and some friendly neighborly competition) take over Main Street this fall!
