Use the Parent Teaching Pages to see activities for each section of the Gospel Weekly: Share Experiences, Discover Gospel and Doctrine, Connecting Gospel and Doctrine, and Live the Gospel. For this assignment, you will submit responses for Discover Gospel and Doctrine, Connecting Gospel and Doctrine, and Live the Gospel.
Part 1-Discover Gospel and Doctrine
Refer to the “Discover Gospel and Doctrine” section in the Parent Teaching Pages to see which activities to complete each week in the Gospel Weeklies (GW). After completing the “Discover Gospel and Doctrine” activities: Good News and Venture: Choose Option 1 or Option 2. (Promise: Choose Option 2 or Option 3. Reflection pages for Option 3 are included in your packet.) Remember: Each child completes ONE option in Part 1.
OPTION 1: Good News and Venture: After reading the Sunday Gospel, discuss the Know (Good News) or Think (Venture) questions that follow the Gospel. Then, invite your child to share what they think is the main message of the Gospel. You may include all your children’s responses in this field, or upload photos of their answers in the photo field below.
OPTION 2: After reading the Gospel, choose one of the following: Summarize the Gospel in your own words, share how the Gospel makes you feel, or talk about a person in the Gospel you relate to and explain why. You may include all of your children’s responses in this field.
OPTION 3 – Promise: Choose a word or phrase from the Gospel that stands out to you. Type the word or phrase in this field and share why it stood out. You may use the provided reflection pages instead to decorate your word, or draw a picture that represents what is happening in the Gospel. There is space on the reflection page to share more about the artwork. Take a photo of the completed reflection page and upload it in the photo field below.

Part 2-Connecting Gospel and Doctrine
It’s important to understand how Catholic teaching helps us discover and understand the truths of the Bible. Refer to the “Connecting Gospel and Doctrine” section in the Parent Teaching Pages to keep track of the activities in the Gospel Weekly. After completing the “Connecting Gospel and Doctrine” activities, invite your child to answer the following question:
Tell us one new or interesting thing your child learned from the “Connecting Gospel and Doctrine” activities this week. You may include responses for all of your children in this space. Alternatively: Share a Catechism topic from any of the Gospel Weekly levels that led to a meaningful discussion with your family.
Part 3-Live the Gospel
This part of the assignment is designed to help your family live out your faith and stay connected to the life of the Church. Refer to the “Live the Gospel” section in the Parent Teaching Pages to keep track of the activities in the Gospel Weekly. After completing the “Live the Gospel” activities, answer the following question:
Share your family’s answers, observations, or insights from the “Live the Gospel” activities. You may include responses from each child, or simply summarize your family’s thoughts or experiences in a couple of sentences. If you prefer, you may also submit photos of your family’s work in the photo field below.
