    GSA Graduate Student Society Funding supports academic, professional, educational, and community-building activities that enhance the graduate student experience at CCSU.Recognized graduate student societies may apply for funding once per academic year for proposed programs and activities. Funding is competitive and subject to available GSA resources. Societies should review the GSA Society Funding guidelines and prepare their proposed activities and itemized budget before beginning this application.

    Graduate Student Society Funding provides awards of up to $750 per academic year. Societies should submit a thoughtful, itemized budget that reflects the activities described in this application.GSA funding is intended to support activities that provide a demonstrated academic, professional, educational, or community-building benefit to graduate students. Award amounts are not guaranteed and may be adjusted based on the proposed activities, anticipated student benefit, eligible expenses, funding priorities, and available GSA resources.
  • List each proposed expense separately and include the expense or item, the activity or purpose it supports, and the estimated cost.

    Example:
    Guest speaker honorarium — Alumni career panel — $250
    Refreshments — Alumni career panel — $150
    Promotional materials — Graduate student welcome event — $100

    The itemized budget should account for the full amount requested from GSA.

  • Society Funding is approved based on the activities and proposed budget described in this application. Funds must be used for the approved purposes and expenses. Significant changes to proposed activities or use of funds must be discussed with Graduate Studies before funds are redirected or used for a different purpose.

    If an approved expense costs less than anticipated, remaining funds do not automatically become available for unrelated purchases or activities.

    Society Funding must be used for the activities and purposes approved through the funding application. Graduate Studies oversees the administration of awarded funds and may request additional information when necessary to process or verify expenditures. Significant changes to the approved activities or proposed use of funds should be discussed with Graduate Studies before funds are redirected to a different purpose.
