Thank you for your interest in celebrating Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) on October 16, 2026 at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (68 Elm St, Summit, NJ 07901) from 10am–12pm. Meet us in the Main Gallery for Guided Activities, Fireside Chats, and an Information Fair!

An open gallery meet-up is a casual, self-guided event where people gather to explore art without formal guides or rigid schedules. Meanwhile, guided group pairing uses facilitators to bring diverse participants into small-group conversations across different abilities and career stages without hiring pressure.

Social prescribing is a process through which a person is referred to non-medical, community-based resources or activities, typically involving nature, art, movement, and service. Arts on Prescription involves arts-based workshops and events as one way to help patients fight isolation, heal mental health inequities, and much more.
