We welcome applications for activities or projects that:
- Aim to keep our wāhi tupuna functional, protected and sustainable
- Enhance our connection ki te taiao
- Strengthen and provide opportunities for whānau and hapū engagement
- Are focused on koeke or rangatahi initiatives
APPLICATION PROCESS:
- Applications open December 2026 – April 2027
- Applicants will be informed of outcome within two weeks of receiving the application.
- Approved applications will be paid on the 20th of the month
- A maximum of $4,000 per application can be awarded by the Trust
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Must be for a collective benefit (not an individual or personal business)
- The applicant must disclose any other funding received or applied to from other organisations for the same quote or invoice
- Retrospective applications will not be considered
WHAT WILL NOT BE FUNDED:
- Sport, health, education, housing, financial literacy, marae capital or operating costs
- Activities already held.
- Kaupapa that receive funding from Tahua Ahurea - the Ngāti Whakaue Tikanga Fund will not be eligible for this funding pool.
REPORTING & ACCOUNTABILITY:
- A final report will be required within 30 days of project completion (accountability report template will be provided).
- Final report must include evidence of expenditure (e.g. invoices, receipts or financial records)
