Dear Pastor,
Since 1990, the Southeastern California Conference has been dedicated to supporting the spiritual and personal growth of our pastors through "The Journey" process. We strongly believe that focusing on being God's people before doing His work, spending unhurried time in His presence, and ministering from a place of spiritual overflow leads to a God-led, fruitful ministry in both our families and church communities.
Over 170 pastors have participated in The Journey, beginning with a commitment to attend six retreats over two years at the beautiful Pine Springs Ranch. Surrounded by God's creation, we spend time in prayer, dive into His Word, and build meaningful connections with one another. The retreats provide space to be with God and each other in a supportive, unhurried, and accountable environment.
Between retreats, we strive to live out the rhythms of grace we have learned in our families and church communities. We continue to coach and encourage one another and share how God is at work among us.
We invite all SECC pastors to join this process and experience renewed strength and depth in their journey with Jesus and in their ministry to their faith communities.
Will Penick, our Ministerial Director, oversees The Journey at the conference level, while Jon Ciccarelli, The Journey Directing Pastor, leads the overall process. Together with other pastors, they facilitate the retreats.
