Every Applicant and NYA Participant needs a Mentor.
What is a mentor?
A mentor is an adult in your community who volunteers to support you with your assignments, help you stay on track, and prepare for your travel south.
Participants can earn up to 9 high school credits with NYA through assignments and volunteering. Assignments are completed between January and next October and require support from your Mentor along the way.

- They are someone who does not live in the same house as you.
Who cannot be a Mentor?
- Your mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent or someone who lives in the same house as you.
