    Booking, Rules & Cancellation Policy

    💄 BOOKING & RETAINER

    A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your appointment date and time.
    Your appointment is not officially booked until the retainer has been received.
    The retainer will be applied toward your total service balance.
    By submitting your retainer, you acknowledge and agree to all Mermaid Makeup Artistry policies.
    Bridal parties require a signed service agreement and final headcount before the wedding date.
    💰 PAYMENTS

    The remaining balance must be paid by the agreed-upon due date.
    Full payment must be received before services begin on the wedding day unless otherwise arranged.
    If the remaining balance is not paid by the required deadline, Mermaid Makeup Artistry reserves the right to cancel the appointment and retain the retainer.
    📅 CANCELLATIONS

    Retainers are non-refundable for cancellations.
    Cancellations made more than 14 days before the appointment may be eligible to transfer the retainer to a new available date, at Mermaid Makeup Artistry’s discretion.
    Cancellations made within 14 days of the appointment forfeit the retainer and are not eligible for transfer.
    Cancellations within 72 hours of the appointment require payment of the remaining balance.
    No-shows will be charged the full remaining balance.
    🔄 RESCHEDULING

    Rescheduling is subject to availability.
    A retainer may only be transferred once and must be requested at least 14 days before the original appointment.
    Bridal appointments and wedding dates cannot be guaranteed on a new date.
    Any additional travel fees resulting from a new location may apply.
    ⏰ LATE POLICY

    Please arrive on time and makeup-ready.
    A grace period of 10 minutes is allowed.
    After 10 minutes, a $15 late fee may apply.
    After 20 minutes, Mermaid Makeup Artistry may need to shorten the service to stay on schedule.
    After 30 minutes, the appointment may be considered a no-show and may be cancelled.
    For bridal parties, one person’s lateness cannot delay the entire schedule. Services will continue according to the agreed-upon timeline.

    👰🏽 BRIDAL PARTY RULES

    The final bridal party headcount must be confirmed before the wedding date.
    Additional people may not be added on the wedding day without prior approval.
    Everyone receiving makeup must arrive with a clean, moisturized face and no makeup unless otherwise instructed.
    Please avoid heavy skincare, facial oils, or exfoliation immediately before your appointment.
    Clients should have their hair completed or scheduled according to the agreed-upon wedding-day timeline.
    The client/bridal party is responsible for providing an appropriate workspace, chair, table, and adequate lighting unless otherwise arranged.
    A quiet, clean workspace is requested so the artist can stay on schedule.
    🚗 TRAVEL & ON-SITE SERVICES

    Travel fees apply when the service location falls outside the included service area.
    Travel fees are calculated based on distance and location.
    Parking, tolls, valet fees, or other required location fees may be charged to the client.
    Standard bridal makeup does not include staying at the wedding after makeup is completed.
    Wedding-day touch-ups or staying on-site are separate services and must be booked in advance.
    💋 TOUCH-UP SERVICES

    Touch-up services are charged separately unless specifically included in the selected bridal package.
    Touch-up time begins at the agreed-upon start time.
    Additional time requested on the wedding day is subject to availability and may be charged at the current hourly rate.
    📸 PHOTOS & SOCIAL MEDIA

    With client permission, Mermaid Makeup Artistry may photograph completed makeup looks for portfolio and social media purposes.
    Clients may request that their photos not be posted.
    ⚠️ ARTIST CANCELLATION

    In the unlikely event that Mermaid Makeup Artistry must cancel due to an emergency or circumstances beyond the artist’s control, the client will receive a refund of all payments made toward services that were not provided.

    Every effort will be made to assist the client in finding another qualified makeup artist when possible.

    🤍 AGREEMENT

    By booking with Mermaid Makeup Artistry and submitting your retainer, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these policies.

    Mermaid Makeup Artistry reserves the right to refuse service or modify policies when necessary.
