Welcome to the application for the 2025/26 Say Somaali Leaders Program!

All mandatory sessions run on Sundays from 2:30 - 6:00 PM. Please only register if you are sure you are able to attend the majority of sessions.

Note: The Leaders program is for students aged 17-24, currently in their first undergraduate college/university program.

Eliglibility: Somali youth (ages of 17-24) in post-secondary in the Greater Toronto Area.

Program Details: Sessions and activities will be on weekend afternoons. There may be special events and trips that are held on other days.

Here are the tentative dates for the Fall Semester (Sept-Dec):

Sept 27th: Orientation

Oct 11: Session 1

Nov 1: Session 2

Nov 22: Session 3

Dec 23: Winter social

Please note, there may be spontaneous activities and social events that happen outside of these dates. These sessions are for you to have fun and get to know each other, and they are not mandatory.

Duration: October 2026-April 2027

Attendance Policy: Failure to attend the orientation will result in automatic un-enrollment.

Evaluation
I hereby give consent to participate in all Say Somaali evaluation activities. The purpose of these activities is to identify and share the impact of the program as well as to continuously improve Say Somaali's processes. I authorize the use of my responses for evaluative and statistical purposes and understand that individual responses will be kept confidential and identifying information will never be shared with third party organizations. I understand that I can withdraw from all evaluations at any time and that participation in such activities will never affect access to program services. I, understand, agree, and give permission to participate in the programs of Say Somaali, consent to any necessary first aid or emergency medical treatment being given or provided to myself, waive any claims against Say Somaali, or any of the Say Somaali representatives, employees or volunteers, in respect to any personal injury or exposure to COVID-19 to myself/any other person/any loss of or damage to property, arising in any way at, from or in connection with the programs of Say Somaali. In addition, I fully understand, on my behalf, the risks associated with participation and assume any risk associated with participating in person.
