This Task Force will systematically review the evidence on ways that GI issues (gastroparesis, constipation, and small-intestinal bacterial overgrowth) affect the bioavailability of oral/enteral antiparkinsonian medication; obtain expert opinions on diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for GI issues in PD to inform new clinical recommendations; and subsequently publish review findings and MDS Expert Recommendations for diagnosis and treatment, with priority first submission to the Movement Disorders Journal.
