• Help Us Stop Mandated Math Assessments — SB 1067 (Weber Pierson) Veto Letter

  • WE NEED YOUR HELP

SB 1067 (Weber Pierson) would require the implementation of a statewide mathematics diagnostic assessment for students in kindergarten through grade 2, without additional funding or supports for our students or educators.

We have peeled off a couple of legislators from voting for the bill, but it’s not enough. SB 1067 is going to go to the Governor’s desk next, and he needs to hear from you. It is your story about the real-life impact policy that stands a chance from stopping this bill from being signed into law.

Please take a few minutes to fill out the below questions, which will be converted into a letter. ACSA will then submit it to the Governor on your behalf.

Thank you for your continued leadership.

You may also describe how a new statewide assessment mandate could affect students, duplicate existing local efforts or disrupt progress already underway.
