2026 WORKSHOPS
Workshops designed to delight your classroom built with our 2026 season in mind.
NEW FOR 2026! BUILD-A-BAE*
Just as Shakespeare had Rosalind and Julia teach their partners how be a better date, your students will explore the gap between “players” and “devoted partners” as they teach and coach their very own “Build-a-Bae.” Why do Shakespeare’s characters get love so wildly wrong? What do people expect from each other on a date? How much can go wrong before it’s a bad one? What makes a "good" date anyway? A high-energy, high-fun workshop, where students step into the roles of dating coaches to design, instruct, and present their own version of the "perfect" romantic partner. Using Elizabethan courtship as their blueprint, groups dictate motivations and interactions through their own modern rules. A crash course in comedy and dating through Shakespeare.
METAPHOR THEATRE*
Decipher dense, poetic text through the important role of imagery in classical works by having your classroom build the image themselves. A fun and silly opportunity to appreciate the impact of language firsthand.
STORYPOINT THEATRE*
Students take center stage in this workshop! Bring the story of As You Like It and The Two "Gentlemen" of Verona to life within your very own classroom as students physically and dynamically work through the plot points and character development of the classic they are studying.
WHY DID THEY DO IT LIKE THAT?
Focus in on APT's interpretation of the text as Teaching Artists discuss everything about the production. A discussion of collaboration from all different departments (lights, costumes, sound, Voice & Text) and the final end product your classroom experienced.
ACTOR TALK
An opportunity for students to learn more about the world of repertory and classical theater from the perspective of professional actors. An energizing conversation with time for Q&As with industry experts.
*Only available for As You Like It and The Two "Gentlemen" of Verona
