In brief: this form registers interest only. The survey is free and anonymous for students, and your school's results are reported to you in aggregate only.

1. What this is. The Starting Line is a free, national, anonymous survey of student capabilities conducted by Future Anything Pty Ltd, open to Australian schools. Submitting this form registers your school's interest in the Founding Round (Term 4, 2026). It does not commit your school to participating.

2. What happens next. Hang tight, and in the coming weeks, we'll send you an implementation guide with more details on The Starting Line. From there, we'll confirm your participation with you, and grab an official green light from your Principal (or delegate). Once you've confirmed your participation, we'll send you a unique access code. Students will use this code (not your school name or details) to access the online survey tool.

3.What do we collect in The Starting Line?

• From you: your name, role, school email address, school name and location, your registration details (year levels and approximate student numbers), and anything you choose to write in the open question.
• About your school, from public sources: school-level information published by ACARA (such as ICSEA value, sector and location).
• From your students, via the anonymous survey: your school's survey code - responses are collected against the code, not your school's name, and the code-to-school link is held separately by Future Anything; year level; optional demographic questions - gender, and whether the student identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander - each with a "prefer not to say" option; and responses to the capability questions. The student survey contains no free-text fields.

4. What we don't collect. No student names, email addresses, dates of birth, addresses, student ID numbers or photographs. Students do not create accounts or log in. We do not collect academic results, NAPLAN data, attendance records, behaviour records, or teacher assessments of students. No information collected can identify an individual student.

5. How the data will be used.

• Your school's report: your students' responses are aggregated at cohort level (minimum of 10 responses) and benchmarked against like schools. Individual responses are never reported, and school reports contain no demographic breakdowns.
• National analysis: anonymous responses are combined into national, aggregated analysis published by Future Anything, including The Starting Line Report. Demographic analysis occurs only at national level, with small groups suppressed. No school is identifiable in any public reporting without its written consent.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander data: analysis relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will only be published following consultation with Indigenous education advisors.
• Future editions: anonymous survey data is retained securely so that participating schools can track year-on-year change in future rounds.
• Storage and access: survey data is stored securely, with access restricted to Future Anything's analysis team. Contact details are retained only while needed for the initiative and deleted on request; anonymous survey data is retained so schools can track change across future editions. Details of the platforms we use are available on request.
• Your contact details: used to communicate with you about The Starting Line - your registration, survey code and report - and, only if you opt in below, occasional updates about Future Anything's work. Personal information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles and our Privacy Policy. Details are never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. You may request access, correction or deletion at any time via hello@futureanything.com.

6. What your school receives. A snapshot of your cohort's aggregated results within a month of your cohort completing the survey, and a full report in early 2027 comparing your students with like schools nationally - released alongside The Starting Line Report. Schools registering multiple year levels also receive their capability results mapped across year levels in the full report. All at no cost.

7. Cost and obligation. Participation is free. There is no obligation to purchase any product or service from Future Anything.
