Why is it important for instructors to have appropriate insurance?
Instructing a class of a music types suggests both instructor and participant love, or at least respect, the music. Meaning if the instructor doesn't have a music licence, which exists to appropriately remunerate the record labels and artists means
To use Punjabi music that is licensed, I must pay for an annual music licence from PPL PRS. Alternatively, if I am certified by Pungra, I can use music created by Ravi Sandhu without the PPL PRS Music Licence
Although many insurers will provide Public Liability Insurance to almost anyone that applies for it, it doesn't mean it will stand up in a legal case. My Public Liability Insurance hold legal weight for exercise classes if I am appropriately certified to lead such classes, with Exercise to Music Level 2, and my Pungra certification is a good continuous professional development attainment
