By attending the Unbounded Toronto Sauna Festival, I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older and that I voluntarily participate in all activities at this event - including sauna, cold plunge, breathwork, movement classes, and any other wellness activities on the property at Evergreen Brickworks.
I acknowledge that these activities carry inherent physical risks. I confirm that I have no known medical conditions, injuries, or health concerns that would prevent my safe participation. I confirm I am not pregnant. I assume full responsibility for my own health and safety, and I release Unbounded, its team, partners, and Evergreen Brickworks from any and all liability for injury, illness, or loss arising from my participation.
PLEASE READ THIS WAIVER CAREFULLY AND IN FULL BEFORE SUBMITTING.
This waiver is a legally binding agreement between you ("Participant") and Unbounded ("the Company"). You must complete this waiver to attend the Unbounded Toronto Sauna Festival, at Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto, between October 2nd and 4th, 2026. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not participate.
SECTION 1 — THE EVENT
The Unbounded Toronto Sauna Festival is a wellness event held at Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto, ON, Canada. Activities include sauna, cold water plunge, contrast therapy (alternating heat and cold), breathwork, guided movement, hydration, recovery tools, available recovery sessions, and open social spaces. Different activities run simultaneously throughout the venue. Participation in any or all activities is at your sole discretion.
SECTION 2 — RISKS OF PARTICIPATION
Participant acknowledges the following known risks associated with activities at this event:
Sauna (Heat Exposure) Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance; dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; overheating and heat exhaustion; heat stroke; burns from contact with heated surfaces; cardiovascular strain including elevated heart rate and blood pressure; aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions.
Cold Plunge (Cold Water Immersion) Cold shock response including involuntary gasping and hyperventilation; sudden spike in heart rate and blood pressure; cardiac arrest in individuals with underlying cardiovascular conditions; hypothermia with prolonged exposure; fainting or loss of consciousness (vasovagal syncope); aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions.
Contrast Therapy (Alternating Heat & Cold) All risks associated with sauna and cold plunge combined; extreme fluctuations in blood pressure and heart rate; increased likelihood of dizziness or fainting during transitions.
Movement, Breathwork & Movement Classes Muscle strain, sprains, or tears; joint injury; hyperventilation or altered states of consciousness during breathwork; slip and fall on wet or uneven surfaces.
General Event Risks Slip, trip, or fall on wet surfaces throughout the venue; physical contact or injury resulting from shared spaces; allergic reactions to food, products, or environmental elements on site.
These risks exist whether or not caused by the negligence of Unbounded, its staff, partners, vendors, or Evergreen Brickworks.
SECTION 3 — CONTRAINDICATIONS
You must not participate in sauna, cold plunge, or contrast therapy if any of the following apply to you. Participation with any of the below conditions is done entirely at your own risk and against the advice of Unbounded:
Do not use the sauna if you: Have a history of heart disease, heart attack, or arrhythmia; have high or low blood pressure (hypertension or hypotension); have epilepsy or a seizure disorder; have multiple sclerosis or a condition worsened by heat; are pregnant or may be pregnant; have active fever, infection, or open wounds; have kidney disease or impaired kidney function; have diabetes or impaired ability to regulate body temperature; are under the influence of alcohol or any substance; are taking medications including diuretics, beta-blockers, antihistamines, sedatives, or anticholinergics; have had recent surgery or a medical procedure.
Do not use the cold plunge if you: Have Raynaud's disease or cold urticaria (cold allergy); have cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or a history of heart attack or stroke; have peripheral artery disease; have epilepsy or a seizure disorder; are pregnant or may be pregnant; have open wounds, active skin infections, or compromised skin; have hypothyroidism or a condition affecting cold tolerance; are under the influence of alcohol or any substance; have had recent surgery or a medical procedure.
If you are unsure whether any of these apply to you, consult a physician before attending. Unbounded staff are not medical professionals and cannot advise on your fitness to participate.
SECTION 4 — WAIVER, RELEASE & INDEMNIFICATION
Assumption of Risk: Participant voluntarily assumes all risks — known and unknown — associated with attendance at and participation in the Toronto Sauna Festival and all of its activities.
Release of Liability: In consideration of being permitted to attend the Event, Participant releases, waives, and discharges Unbounded, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and Evergreen Brickworks (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, or liabilities of any kind — including those arising from the negligence of any Released Party — arising out of or relating to Participant's attendance at or participation in the Event or any of its activities.
Indemnification: Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost — including reasonable legal fees — incurred by Released Parties as a result of Participant's participation in the Event or Participant's breach of this Agreement.
Right to Refuse: Unbounded reserves the right to remove any Participant from the Event at any time, without refund, if staff determine in their sole discretion that the Participant poses a risk to themselves or others, or is unfit to continue participation safely.
Media Release: Participant acknowledges and agrees that photographs, video and/or audio recordings may be taken during the Event in which Participant may appear or be heard. Participant grants Unbounded and its authorised representatives a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish, distribute and display such photographs, recordings and any related likeness, image or voice, in any format or media, including Unbounded’s website, social media channels, promotional materials and other marketing communications, for the purposes of promoting Unbounded, its events and activities.
Participant understands that such materials may be combined with other content and may be made publicly available through third-party platforms, including social media platforms, over which Unbounded has no control. Participant waives any right to inspect or approve the final materials or their use, and agrees that no payment or other compensation will be due in connection with such use.
Participant may opt out of being photographed or recorded for these purposes by notifying Unbounded’s content team at the Event and following any reasonable identification or opt-out procedure provided. Where Participant subsequently withdraws consent or otherwise objects to the use of their image, Unbounded will consider and address the request in accordance with applicable data protection law, but shall not be responsible for materials already published or distributed or for copies, reposts or other uses by third parties outside Unbounded’s control.
Nothing in this clause limits any rights that cannot lawfully be waived or excluded under applicable law.
Governing Law: This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
Severability: If any part of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
