Elementary + Middle School Ages Welcome
โจ Spots are limited โ booking now!
BendโLa Pine elementary and middle school students have no school October 28โ30 for Fall Conferences, so weโre filling those school-free days with three cozy days of art, music, baking, culture, games, and creativity!
Come celebrate all the wonderful things about fall with us! ๐
Over three days, campers will explore the season through visual art, music, food, traditions, outdoor time, collaborative projects, and play. Weโll also be joined by guest youth artists, giving campers the opportunity to learn from and create alongside other young artists!
๐ What Weโll Do
๐จ Paint a relaxing fall scene inspired by the colors, light, and feeling of autumn.
๐ผ๏ธ Create a Living Art piece! Weโll explore a famous work of art that takes place in the fall and work together to step inside the artwork and bring it to life.
๐ถ Write our own fall song! Campers will explore songwriting through lyrics, melody, rhythm, and all the sounds and feelings of the season.
๐ฅ Make plant-based pan dulce dough together! Weโll learn about pan dulce and its traditions while creating our own dough. Iโll take care of baking our creations at home.
โ Make plant-based champurrado together while learning about this traditional warm Mexican drink and the traditions surrounding it.
๐ Explore fall traditions through food, art, music, stories, and seasonal activities.
๐ฅ Gather around the bonfire for some cozy fall fun together!
๐งโ๐จ Create with guest youth artists! Young artists will join us to share their talents and creativity with our campers. I love giving kids the opportunity to see other young people not only as fellow artists, but also as teachers, mentors, and creative leaders.
๐ Plus, weโll play fall-themed games, enjoy baked treats, spend time outside, make lots of art and music, and leave plenty of room for imagination and connection.
๐จ Elementary + Middle Schoolers Creating Together
All elementary and middle school ages are welcome!
We LOVE combined ages at OTB Arts, and watching kids of different ages create together is one of my favorite parts of camp.
Mixed-age environments naturally create opportunities for peer learning, collaboration, leadership, observation, problem-solving, and mentorship. Younger campers get to see what older artists are experimenting with, while older campers have opportunities to encourage, demonstrate, help, and lead.
And it absolutely goes both ways! Younger artists often bring a freedom, imagination, and willingness to experiment that inspires our older artists, too.
Art and music are especially wonderful for mixed ages because everyone can approach the same inspiration at their own level. There isnโt one โrightโ version of a painting, song, performance, or creative idea.
Our guest youth artists are another part of this philosophy. Kids get to see firsthand that you donโt have to wait until adulthood to have something valuable to create, teach, or share. โค๏ธ
