Mini Makers Market Guidelines/Made & Managed by Young Entrepreneurs

    • Products should be made, grown, designed or created primarily by the participating child. Parents can absolutely help, but we want the kids to be the stars of their booth!
    • Parent/Guardian Supervision Required
    • A parent or legal guardian must be present and responsible for their child throughout the event. Children may not be dropped off or left unattended.
      Sales & Money
    • Each participant/family is responsible for setting prices, handling payments, making change and managing all money collected. The Chamber/Event organizers will not collect or manage money on behalf of participants.
      Parent/Guardian Responsibility
    • The parent or legal guardian assumes responsibility for the participant's booth, products, sales, transactions, supervision and compliance with any applicable laws or regulations. Event organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
      Food & Beverage Items
    • All food and beverage items must comply with applicable Iowa food-safety and licensing requirements. A parent/guardian is responsible for determining whether their child's product may legally be sold and for following any required labeling, handling or permitting requirements.
      Keep It Kid-Friendly
    • Products, signs and booth displays must be appropriate for a family/community event. Organizers reserve the right to decline an item that isn't appropriate for the market.
      Booth Setup
    • Participants are encouraged to get creative! Make a business sign, decorate your space, create price tags and show off your personality. Parents may assist with setup and safety.
      Most Importantly—Have Fun!
This market is about giving young people a chance to be creative, build confidence, practice customer service and experience what it's like to run their own little business. Perfection is NOT required!
