Awhi Ta Rē Community Grants – Funding Criteria

To be eligible, your application must meet the following criteria:

Eligibility
- Applicants must be registered members of Hokotehi Moriori Trust.
- Applications may be submitted by individuals, hūnau, community groups or organisations led by a registered member.
Your tchipangā
- Your tchipangǎ must take place during Ta Wik' a Ta Rē Moriori 2026 (12–18 October 2026).
- The initiative must create meaningful opportunities for people to see, hear or speak ta rē Moriori.
- The grant must be used for community-focused activities, events or resources rather than private or commercial purposes.
Successful applicants agree to:
- Provide event details to Hokotehi Moriori Trust for inclusion in Ta Wik' a Ta Rē Moriori promotions.
- Acknowledge support from Hokotehi Moriori Trust in promotional material where practical.
- Record participant numbers and provide a brief post-event summary.
- Supply a selection of photos and/or short video clips for use across HMT's social media, website and newsletter.
- Spend the funding only on the approved tchipangǎ, or seek approval before making significant changes.
