Join Mothership for a conversation with artist and writer Molly Crabapple on her acclaimed book Here Where We Live is Our Country, a history of the Jewish Labor Bund: the movement of Jewish radicals who organized against antisemitism and repression across the Russian Empire and Eastern Europe. Anti-Zionist, secular, and socialist, the Bund fought for worker's rights and Jewish cultural life, insisting that people could build lives that were just and culturally rich right where they are, without the demand to assimilate or emigrate.

What does a movement that was ultimately defeated still have to teach us about solidarity? Crabapple joins us to discuss the Bund's legacy of organizing across difference, its vision of belonging without ethnonationalist statehood, and what its struggles offer those thinking about liberation today.

The book will be available for purchase at the event.
