THE NUTCRACKER REIMAGINED
A unique twist on a classic story!
Join us for our 3rd Annual production of EDC's version of the classic story of the Nutcracker!
We are so excited to bring this magical story to life with our EDC dancers!
The show will feature ballet, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, tap, jazz and acrobatics, so there is something for everyone!
We are casting dancers ages 4 ½-18 to participate in this exciting winter show!

“Nutcracker Reimagined”
Nutcracker Casting/Audition:
September 26th
Time: 11:30am-2:00pm
What it is: Dancers will be split by age and learn a ballet, jazz, and hip-hop combination. All dancers that audition will be cast in at least two routines in The Nutcracker Reimagined. Dancers interested in auditioning for special roles and solos will stay until 2pm. This is reserved for dancers with at least 3 years of ballet training and over the age of 8.
Attire: All black dance attire. Skin-toned or pink ballet shoes & Pointe shoes (if applicable), sneakers.
Casting Breakdown:
11:30am-12:15pm: Session One
4 ½-6 years
Casting for: Party Scene, Marzipan Scene
12:00-1:15: Session Two
7-10 years/11 years and up
Casting Combinations: Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz
Casting for: Various Ensemble Roles/Pieces
1:15-2:00pm: Callback Auditions
Casting Combinations: Instructors will watch dancers do one (or more) of the previous combinations based on which style they were called back for. Dancers called for pointe will be taught a small pointe variation for the Flower Queen, Snow Queen, Sugar Plum, or The Doll
Casting for: Various Lead Roles
Mouse “Queen”, Soldier, Russian Lead, Chinese Lead, Arabian Lead, Spanish Lead, Flower Queen, Snow Queen, Sugar Plum Fairy, the Ballet Doll, Marzipan Doll
Nutcracker Rehearsal Schedule
October 3th-December 13th
Saturday Rehearsals: 10
Sunday Rehearsals: 3
*Detailed rehearsal schedule will be released after casting is complete
Participation Fee:
$200.00
Includes up to (2) costumes and all rehearsals
*All dancers will be casted in a minimum of 2 sections. Any dancers casted in more than 2 sections or that have special roles may incur additional costume fees.

Casting is open to current or former EDC students, as well as outside dancers!!
