• The National Music Museum wants to hear about your experience in the Golden Age of Bands!

The Golden Age of Bands ensemble recreated the soundscape of the golden age of town bands following the Civil War. Begun in 1967 by Arne Larson, the NMM's founding collector, this ensemble played nearly 60 public concerts before it disbanded in 1995. Did you play in this historic ensemble? The NMM is gathering memories and stories about the Golden Age of Bands for an oral history project, and we would love to talk to anyone who played with this ensemble about their experience. If you would like to be part of this project, please fill out this form. The NMM's Museum Educator, Anna Van Kley, will contact you to set up a time to share your memories! If you have any questions, send her an email at arianna.vankley@usd.edu or give her a call at 605-658-3440. Please do not share any sensitive information on this form.
