Welcome to "A Renaissance of Becoming: Honoring Her Voice, Power, and Purpose." Our cotillion is a culminating program presented by the NAACP Staten Island Branch. Young ladies participating in the cotillion program will have the outstanding opportunity to experience a wide array of cultural, academic, and social and civics activities. Upon completion of debutante training, she will participate in a cotillion ball along with her escort on July 3, 2027. This formal presentation of young ladies to society offers debutantes and escorts a meaningful experience that will remain in their hearts and minds for years to come.
All potential Debutantes and Escorts must meet the following requirements:
- Be a current high school junior or senior.
- Must have a min. G.P.A. of 2.5 for consideration.
- Be under 19 years old at the time of the 2027 Cotillion Ball.
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher/school administrator, employer, community leader, etc. Family members are NOT allowed to provide a letter of recommendation.
- Provide an updated resume.
- Provide an essay that will detail how YOU think this cotillion experience could change your life.
- Commit to participating in all cotillion service learning projects, activities, and training in Staten Island, NY.
- All applicants must submit a non-refundable $50.00 application fee.

If you have issues paying your application fee, please email us at naacpsicotillion@gmail.com. The nonrefundable participation fee is $250 for debutantes and $150 for escorts. The participation fee covers all materials and resources needed for the educational workshops, service activities, and debutante activities. The participation fee is due at the October orientation meeting.
