Amplifying the Voices, A Symposium on Interpreting Complex Histories - October 22-24, 2026

Register to attend the three-day symposium at Handsell Historic Site, Dorchester County, MD. Open to historic and cultural organizations from MD, DE, and VA. Days 2 & 3 are also open to the public. Lead by Joseph McGill of the Slave Dwelling Project and Dontavius Williams, professional interpreter.
This is a free event, but advance registration is required.

Space is limited to 80 attendees on Thursday and Friday.

A light box lunch will be served on Thursday and Friday for those staying the entire day.

Dinner on Friday is not provided.

This event is being sponsored through a grant from the Maryland Center for History and Culture and hosted by the Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance at Handsell Historic Site, 4837 Indian Town Rd., Vienna, MD 21869.
