Sorell Council, in partnership with Ten Lives, is providing subsidised cat desexing and microchipping for eligible residents as part of the Dodges Ferry Cat Management Project.
The usual cost of desexing and microchipping is approximately $250–$700 per cat. Through this program, Sorell Council is subsidising the cost, with successful applicants making a contribution of up to $100 per cat.
Priority will be given to eligible residents living in and around Dodges Ferry, with applications from other areas of the Sorell Municipality considered subject to availability.
Before applying, please note:
- This program is intended to support cat owners experiencing financial hardship.
- The program is not available to intentional cat breeders.
- Places are limited and submitting an application does not guarantee a place.
- You will need to transport your cat to and from Ten Lives Cat Centre.
- You will need to provide a secure cat carrier.
- If you have more than one cat, a separate application is required for each animal.
- Additional eligibility criteria and conditions apply.
