Dodges Ferry Low Cost Desexing Program Application

Sorell Council, in partnership with Ten Lives, is providing subsidised cat desexing and microchipping for eligible residents as part of the Dodges Ferry Cat Management Project.

The usual cost of desexing and microchipping is approximately $250–$700 per cat. Through this program, Sorell Council is subsidising the cost, with successful applicants making a contribution of up to $100 per cat.

Priority will be given to eligible residents living in and around Dodges Ferry, with applications from other areas of the Sorell Municipality considered subject to availability.

Before applying, please note:

This program is intended to support cat owners experiencing financial hardship.
The program is not available to intentional cat breeders.
Places are limited and submitting an application does not guarantee a place.
You will need to transport your cat to and from Ten Lives Cat Centre.
You will need to provide a secure cat carrier.
If you have more than one cat, a separate application is required for each animal.

• I understand that participation in the program is strictly voluntary. Sorell Council and Ten Lives assumes no risk for the health of my cat or the outcome of the surgery. Completing this application does not guarantee a space in the program. Placements are subject to eligibility and availability and we reserve the right to modify or cancel the program at any time.

• I understand that, should my application be approved, I will need to pay a contribution of up to $100.00 towards my cat’s desexing and microchipping.

• I understand that if my application is successful, I will need to organise transport for my cat to and from Ten Lives for desexing and microchipping.

What happens next?

Applications will be reviewed against the program eligibility criteria. If your application is successful, Ten Lives will contact you to determine your cats suitability. From there Ten Lives will arrange an appointment and provide information about preparing your cat for the procedure, payment and transport arrangements.
