MVSO Heartstrings

Students  in grades 3-6 are invited to attend “Heartstrings” this school year at FLOC!  Every child deserves a chance to explore the violin, viola, cello or bass.  We are pleased to offer group lessons on these 4 stringed instruments with a unique approach to learning strings with a group class and on sight practice time. 

 

TUESDAYS, beginning 9/22/26. School year program.

3:30-4:00 student arrivals

4:00-5:00 practice time, listening, reading, written work, snack

5:00-5:45 group class

5:45-6:15 group/indiv.practice

6:30 pick up

 

 

Each student will receive:

• Instrument, book and music stand to use at class. (These may not go home)
• 45 minute group class with mixed instruments
• 30 minutes of personal practice time 
• Instruction from a professional string teacher from the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra

 

 

 

Before signing up, please acknowledge that you have read the rules.

• Students must commit to the entire term of 12 lessons
• 2 absences will result in removal from lessons
• Materials and instruments provided must be handled according to instruction and treated with care and respect at all times.  They may not be taken home.
• Parents may view the group classes but must remain at the table or nearby seating area with noise kept at a minimum.  Nothing should disrupt the learning atmosphere.
• Parents picking up children should do so promptly.  
• No food or drink allowed - other than a water bottle
• Students will be kept to the highest standard of decorum and stringed instrument learning techniques.  Any child who disrupts the flow of class will be asked to have a parent/guardian in their care and seated immediately next to them for the duration of class and personal practice.
